It is enough you feel bad OP. The guilt you feel will take care of any Karma you may feel you having coming your way. It was an accident, but you dealt with the situation in a commendable way. You could have left the dog to die what may have taken hours. You didn't do that though ... you put him down with compassion. I am sorry it happened, but that dog already forgives you, so please forgive yourself.
