It’s a bit like a supermarket manager dying of starvation or a bottled-water distributor dying of thirst: In the U.K., a former National Health Service (NHS) director died while waiting for medical care — at her own hospital. The Daily Mail reports:

Margaret Hutchon, a former mayor, had been waiting since last June for a follow-up stomach operation at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford, Essex.

But her appointments to go under the knife were cancelled four times and she barely regained consciousness after finally having surgery.

Her devastated husband, Jim, is now demanding answers from Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust — the organisation where his wife had served as a non-executive member of the board of directors.

He said: "I don't really know why she died. I did not get a reason from the hospital. We all want to know for closure. She got weaker and weaker as she waited and operations were put off."

Can I ask how many babies died in America compared to the UK ?

The UK has 4.6 infant death per 1,000
The USA has 6.8 infant deaths per 1,000

So you tell me what health care system saves more lives ? Answer the infant mortality rate is 47% higher in the USA.

the health service in this country is nothing but a money pit, filled with smug, know it all (or rather KNOW NOTHING) wankerpusses.

What comes around, goes around.

And whats the population in the UK? about 62 million people. The USA.... over 300 million people.

And in countries where people can't afford to buy health care, they would also die from the same condition as well. Either way you have people dying from a lack of health care.
A more true comparison would be to count how many are dying because of it.

You can find different human medical conditions and different rates of death where some will be statistically greater in one country and not the other. You missed the point of the post it concerned the waiting times pertaining to receiving surgical care and follow-ups care.

That's because America is one helluva sick society. Women of childbearing age are a mess over here. It's horrendous.

I fully expect the nation to fall part in the next 10 years or so - to many sick people due to the hormones, bromines, high fructose corn syrup, antibiotics, and GMO food. Add to that the FDA-approved drugs that accelerate the sickness.

It's absolutely atrocious what is happening here. But it is so gradual that few are noticing it.

For 60 years we have been sliding down hill. The hill is steeper than ever.

You are correct more than you know. My mother was killed by a morphine overdose administered by Hospice. Sublingual morphine every two hours for a minor fall with no injuries until she didn't want to eat!

Then they withheld water. If you want to kill someone OD them with morphine and then withhold water. It will work every time it is tried!

Since we all have to go sometime, this is a fitting way for reformers who shove their agenda down our throats to go.

It's already fallen apart. Didn't you notice?

People are not on Hospice care unless the doctor has given them six months or less to live.

This may have hastened her death -- but only by a few weeks, most likely.

And on morphine? ... She must have been enduring terrible pain. Perhaps her passing was a blessing in that she was finally freed from unending pain.

Not to sound cruel, but that is reality.

Just an FYI, people are put on Hospice all the time and then taken off and go on to lead normal lives. They may be in a critical situation at the time, but it does not have to be a death sentence. Sometimes it's just a classification in order to get additional services.
"That" IS the reality.

I definitely know what you're talking about. I lost my father last year due to the same medication BS. They didn't take into account that he was sensitive to the type of meds they were giving him.

It sucks. Sorry for your loss.
