The incident occurred in an area where workers have been unearthing containers of waste that had been buried for years. The site is also near a landfill where some waste is being permanently buried. No known contamination or injuries were detected in initial radiological surveys of the scene, said Calvin Dudney, a member of the joint information center at Hanford. No other information was immediately available. Dudney did not know how many workers were in the area at the time. [ link to www.newsday.com] |

Typical 12/08/2005 10:08 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Re: Feds Evacuate Hanford Nuclear Workers The entire tri-city area is one big toxic nuclear waste dump. Read and listen to what Lauren Moret has to say about it. The whole Columbia River Basin is contaminated - which unfortunately runs into the Pacific Ocean. |
