Aldebaran Star ??-- Green, Blue, White,Red colors flashing..seen with naked eye

Funny you should mention this because my neighbor and I first noticed this a couple years ago and it came up in a recent conversation a week or so ago. I'll hit him up today, because I think he said he figured out what it was...I'll post again later.

Arcturus has been all blinky as well. I see what you're talking about and have been checking Aldebaran out too, and yes a few days ago Sirius was like a disco light. My best guess is its a beacon and we're just meant to appreciate it in our own way.

I know a star to the lower left of Orion flashes it looks blue and red to me i actually thought it was a planet but like you said it doesn't move

Aldebaran stars are in the orange and red hue and very bright, not blinking or different colors.

So it is a UFO

Some friends of mine and I saw this phenomenon a few months back. Same basic observations as the OP but not sure what star I was looking at. Well, I have been thinking as more and more reports come in that we are not actually seeing the stars 'blinking' at all, but rather atmospheric distortions. Sort of like putting a light through a prism.

I have my own thoughts as to what could be causing these distortions but I am interested in hearing some opinions as to whether my guess could be correct and what some of you feel could be causing them.

These have been CRAFT for many years now. Our solar system is under transit to a new energy stream and they maintain the normal look people expect. Stars do not flash colors! Last night, about 11 pm I went outside and every star ship up there was flashing like crazy. In fact I don't see many real "stars" because of the city light effect.

ive noticed the same thing with a specific star lately. i just got an android phone which has realtime google sky to identify planets and it said it was aldebaran too.

Use binoculars like I do, is it not the most beautiful thing you've ever seen, or close to it?

no you are seeing CRAFT. and if you watch them closely you may even see some of them move around which is NOT atmospheric effect. There was a thread on tis awhile back, and folks went out and watch beattle Juiice, move around like crazy and flash lights too.

Yes, it's called light refraction! Google for Snell's law and for the reason the air temperature variances can cause refraction of the light, thus giving twinkling stars that look like they are changing color.

and watch orions belt also, these ones also put on a show occasionally.

i have noticed the same thing, two differnt stars one to the north and one to the south, in fact one was so noticable that it had my guests and I staring at it for about an hour

I actually noticed last night that the sky was unusually dark for my area (Metro ATL) I was able to spot constellations in the low southern sky which as far as I can remember has been washed out with yellowish light pollution.

I tried to get some pics recently of it, but it seems to be too dim for camera's, but flashy enough to pick it out of the sky every night.

I looked at it through my telescope before too, and it was like a pulsating light of purples, greens, and blues.

Exactly. It's just the atmosphere causing it. But I don't think the Tards will listen to reason. They are convinced it's some UFO up there signaling them.. Haha.

This is the only one that does this that I've seen.

It really is atmospheric refraction. Happens with point sources of light, which stars are to us. Prismatic effect. Planets don't do it. Venus is steady for instance.

I saw the same thing several times last summer. It looked star size and changed color. I thought it could be something in orbit like a satellite but more like those videotaped by John Lenard Walson.

I have to admit though...it's odd that I haven't noticed before and I'm an avid sky watcher. The image through binoculars yields the same colors except closer. I cannot make any detail of the star or whatever it may be.
I'm going to fire up the camcorder tonight and see if I can get some vid of Sirius and Aldebaran. Da wife was freaked out and watched for hours...

One of my kids and I saw that exact same thing moving slowly across the sky a few months ago.
I pointed it out to my husband. He looked right at it--watched it for a few seconds--turned to me and said "You're crazy" and walked back into the house.

UFOs are parked in front of stars to fools you about them being there. They are saying tee hee to themselves.

I know what you mean. I've lived in this house since 1987 and I saw a star grouping or constellation that's brand new to me a couple of nights ago. I can see it from my deck to the west and I swear it's never been there before.
