Re: Alien abduction, Old Hag Syndrome, Sleep Paralysis.
I had it last night.. Normally I am a very rational person but this really scared me! I am actually afraid to go back to sleep now!

It was a terrible feeling of something evil trying to invade my body, I felt it in my back and spine. I also heard loud whispers from multiple people/things.. I could only move my eyes. I was facing the wall so I didnt see anything. I dont think i want to know what it was, I hope my imagination!

Re: Alien abduction, Old Hag Syndrome, Sleep Paralysis.
When I was about 10 or 11 I woke up in the middle of the night and felt panic and saw a shadowy figure standing next to the bed. I couldn't scream or anything and couldn't take my eyes off of it either. The when I was 15 I had a "vision" I call it that cause I don't think i was dreaming. But anyway, there was this face floating above mine and saying in a very clear and calm voice, You might as well give it to me now because I will get it one day. I remember saying you can't have it and you'll never get it from me. He then said I will be seeing you again and disappeared.

As an adult and sometimes still I have horrific dreams and I can't move and I start to scream in my dreams but it's really hard to scream. I keep forcing myself to scream and then I wake up screaming. It's kinda weird. Just reading this whole thread has made me feel like the hair on my head was standing on end.

Do you think the entity was referring to your soul?
 Quoting: Jet Wylie

At the time and whenever I think about it, yes, I do think it was referring to my soul. I'm not really a believer so to say. I once did believe in god and all and then when I prayed I would feel nothing. So since I wasn't feeling anything I started praying to the "devil" and got nothing from there either and that's where I'm at now, an extreme skeptic/ atheist. But that one particular dream, vision, whatever has stuck with me for 25 years.
 Quoting: Rev_Mikey13

Curious, did you start to pray to the devil, before or after this particular episode?
 Quoting: Jet Wylie

It was way after. I had that episode when I was 15. I'm 40 now and I started trying to see if there was anything else when I was in my mid 30's.

Re: Alien abduction, Old Hag Syndrome, Sleep Paralysis.
According to my own research, in most sleep paralysis episodes, the victim experiences 3 major entities/hallucinations. 1. Alien abduction is consistent with sleep paralysis in most cases. 2. In Newfoundland and England people experience an old hag, which i must add is documented back over 2000 years. And 3. A shadowy figure who either stands at the foot of your bed and/or attacks the victim violently. If you do suffer from SP i would really like to know which of these you experience. Yes i am aware of the scientific explanations and yes i have heard many christian inputs about demons, so i would appreciate no bible bashers or people who have a self taught degree. I merely want to compare the entities and include them in my research to find a connection.

i dont know if this helps but i can offer two tidbits to your research

1. i got SP ALL THE TIME, even able to see the 3 shadow figures in my early teens - i used to say the LORDS PRAYER and it would always stop.

2. in the filipines this is common too, they recommend wiggling yor toes to make it stop.

For me personally it's funny to see how different religions counter act the SP, is the experiencer right in their belief? ie. are all beliefs applicable to the experiencer? or is it just a manifestations which is submissive to the ultimate belief of the experiencer. Very very deep stuff thanks!!

I never committed myself to anyone. It was more of an experiment. And what I found from my experiment is that there is nobody else but us IMO. I didn't get anything from "either side" so therefore it made me come to the conclusion that there is nothing more than ourselves. The mind is a very powerful thing and can easily play tricks.

Re: Alien abduction, Old Hag Syndrome, Sleep Paralysis.
I think there's a connection that most of these occurances were in teenagers around 15-16 years old.

I myself was that age when these "incidents" happened, though I did not experience any fear at the time, only afterwards, when I would think about what happened the night before.

For over a year I would wake up with the inability to move (except that I could look around with my eyes only.) I could not make any sounds, nor even move my mouth.

I would see any number of shadow creatures with bat-like ears and glowing eyes either at the foot of my bed or at the side of my bed, staring at me (these were either very short or crouched down ro about 3 feet.)

Also present(during the last few of the incidents) was this large and very tall hunch-backed creature (who stood at the corner of my room, illuminated by the moonlight) that smiled at me when I awoke. It had a jowl like that of an animal, eyes that glowed green. and wore a long robe or cloak.

I had no knowlege of this hag woman until today, but I can see how this "creature" could resemble one.

I can give more info upon request, if needed.

Re: Alien abduction, Old Hag Syndrome, Sleep Paralysis.
Ive had out of body experiences and I could controll them at will and have one if I wanted to. Let me tell you what came first.

It all started out with sleep paralysis, this was happening to me daily a couple of years ago. I was getting freaked the hell out, feeling as if im awake could see everything around me but couldnt get up couldnt yell for help for someone to wake me up felt as if my mind was disconnected from my body, i would have to struggle and struggle to get up, what made all this worse is that I was encountering the old hag and shadow man someone on this forum just posted about it kinda shocked me when i saw the thread as i never thought anyone else could experience the same thing.

I started paying attention to what where the reasons this was happening to me and was wondering wether I really was awake or asleep when i felt as if I couldnt get up. I found out that when I would eat a heavy meal before I went to sleep I would get SP, I found out that if I would try and force myself to sleep without being that sleepy I would get SP, think this happens when you have your eyelids half way closed too, and all this would happen only when I was facing up.

After encountering the shadow man a few times I learned that he was being caused by any shadow that was created in the room, I discovered this after encountering the shadow man while having sleep paralysis and have finally really woken up... where the shadowman was there was a small shadow that was being created by the green on light of an electronic device i had, after this day I had to make sure there where no shadows in my room as all this was causing me extreme insomnia.

The old hag, think she was more terrofying then the shadow man, if I remember correctly I would encounter her when I would fall asleep facing up with my hands on my chest having SP as well... its hard to describe the feeling, felt as if i was being rapped by something and sinked into my bed by her.

Moving to to the Out of Body Experience, Sleep paralysis was constantly happening to me it was terrofying trying to get up and not able to and then seeing shit aswell. Well one of these days during a sleep paralysis episode I just decided to let it go, i just didnt try to force myself to get up I just remained calm in my mind and motionless body....

This is when I all of a sudden arose from my body, I could see myself my body on the bed, its like if my soul had just gotten out of my body. I remember kinda like floating upwards out of my body and slowy spinning around and seeing myself. I felt as if I didnt know how to control my soul becuase then i floated downwards and would softly hit the floor then float upwards hit the ceiling and spin back floating, this is the hardest to describe. floating around in my room i was amazed as to how i could see everything that was in my room, i dont remember this being quick as I was just in aw, but when I woke up I was calm I was shocked of what great expereince it was. I did this a few more times paying attention to the things i saw in my room as i floated to see if they where actually there when i woke up. I did this a few more times until the day I floated out of my room, I floated threw the door down the hall, saw my family sleeping in there rooms this feeling started to feel awkward, it was until I floated out side that I quickly returned to my body. The feeling was as if I was to faraway from my body and felt as if I was never going to return to it this feeling freaked me out. after all this I started think what if i was dying what if I was dead when I would get out of my body, what if im slowy leaving, what if this is a step you go threw to actual death.

After that last obe i didnt want to experience it no more, all this happened to me a few years ago when I was 22 or 23. Since I learned to control the sleep paralyis i didnt have any more for long time. Once in a while I have sleep paralysis but try and fight to wake up, if i dont try and wake up and allow myself to have another obe i feel as if im never coming back... maybe one of these days ill have the guts to do it again, as at that first moment it felt good to explore but the last obe just felt ugly.

Hey GLPguy excellent post, thankyou very much. Sounds like quite and experience for you. alot of people who do experience OBE's usually use SP to trigger it. Lucid dreaming is also very closely associated with these phenomenon. As for your feeling of death, there is an old latin saying that sleep and death are brothers.

Here's some other information that may be useful to you:

*I did not experience the typical "sitting on the chest" that others have. They were around me but did not ever touch me.
*I was studying occult theories/behaviors at the time, reading everything I could get my hands on (I have always been extremely inquisitive, so I can understand why you would ask here)
*I was raised catholic though not practicing
*these events stopped after telling others about the experiences

I will try to think of any other details that may help with your investigation... perhaps there is a link of specific behaviors, social/economic status, religious upbringing, childhood abuse, etc.?

Thankyou very much for your details!! As for the connection.... there seems to be no or very little discrimination between sex, social status or economic status. There does however appear to be a geological connection in alot of Old Hag and ET experiences, and also a connection between the shadow people and religion/ and or upbringing. Child abuse however is an interesting topic, as only one person has come forth and stated that they suffered from child abuse, unfortunately i don't know enough in that area to establish a connection of any kind.

Re: Alien abduction, Old Hag Syndrome, Sleep Paralysis.
To what kind of a geological connection are you refering? Locale? Perhaps time frames (more than just ages) would be relevant as well.

My experiences were not only limited to a suburb of Houston, in the mid 1990's. Earlier in my life I saw these shadow people, independant of this other hag creature, in two different towns in Louisiana, all during the mid 80's.

I was also a victim of childhood sexual abuse, and I have noticed more of these types of experiences in people who have a history of abuse of any kind.

Perhaps some sort of spiritual scarring that made them/us more susceptable to this kind of phenomenon?

I refer to geographical connection based the prevalence of the old hag in Newfoundland. What is also incredibly interesting is that many people in Japan, consistently report an identical old hag, most cases wearing a hat and mascara running down the face. As for ET encounters, the connection is usually more the person than the location. Quite alot of abductees are repeat experiencers.

I wasn't aware of that... pretty interesting stuff.

Where in France are you? I have a friend that I visit who lives in Napt, a small village near Oyonnax. It is beautiful there...

Had sleep paralysis a handful of times, but on two occasions saw something black and rather shapeless. Kinda like the LOST smoke monster. Once beside me, once over me.

Also heard a voice.

Oh... and in the "none of the above" option, I've seen quite a lot of shadow spiders w/o sleep paralysis.

That is a night terror, very different from SP. A waking nightmare, although it be terrifying at the time.... you either don't remember or you realise how absurd what you experienced is. SP is different because most experiencers are SO sure they are awake and lucid, therefor what they experience is disturbing.

I have seen these as well. Several others in my home witnessed it (the smoky, oily thing) also, and so I am quite sure that it was not simply an overactive imagination.

This apparition was different in that I was able to move around freely. (The hunched-back creature's appearance was definately different. Total paralysis while fully awake on that one.)

Re: Alien abduction, Old Hag Syndrome, Sleep Paralysis.
I had a sleep paralysis once. I was dreaming, I woke up and the images from the dream sort of persisted. So it genuinly looked like a demon was sitting 2 meters away from me just looking at me.
Felt like I just looked back at it for 15mins or so and sweating.
First thing I did was google it and voila, sleep paralisys.

Awsome fun though :P

Re: Alien abduction, Old Hag Syndrome, Sleep Paralysis.
I've had episodes of sleep paralysis over the course of like 5 or 6 years, doesn't happen to often though.

I think my first time was at a friends house and I found myself unable to move, and I had a feeling of dread as I sensed a presence near by, but could not percieve it.
Another time I could hear my bedroom doorknob being jiggled as I lay paralysed ( I was the only one in the apartment that night).

My latest one though is the wierdest. I remember seeing a humanoid demonic type figure next to my bed, kneeling over my body, cept this was kinda different, it was more like an out of body experience, as I seemed to be viewing myself in the third person from a perspective above my bed. I could see its face was twisting shape.
