If that is a serious question I am intrigued. As i never heard of Mr. Shadow speaking before. Do tell.....
 Quoting: Jet Wylie

Well I had just a couple of dreams with him. I have no idea if he is the "Mr Shadow" but he was visually just a shadow figure. He told me I was his son, and he was always trying to get me to do things, not nice things, sometimes my "brother" would be there.

lol that sounded a lot grosser than intended. He would want me to rob and steal and kill, nothing sexual.

Re: Alien abduction, Old Hag Syndrome, Sleep Paralysis.
Here is my experience

Sleep Paralysis

My most recent episode. I woke up in the middle of the night, around 3 am, and was paralyzed from the neck down. Also, I had no voice with which to scream. The only thing that seemed to work were my eyes. It was dark, obviously and there was something standing over me. Not at the foot of the bed, but beside me. This "thing" was very tall. I'm talking ceiling height because it was near the roof of my canopy over my bed. Anyhow, I remember not being able to scream at it outloud and I was so brave and screamed at it from in my head to GO! I very sternly said it must leave me because it was frightening me....and quick as a flash it was gone. Then I was able to move again and quickly cuddled up to my husband. LOL It might have been a dream, but my goodness, it was so real.

I'd never heard of the old hag until I looked it up the next morning.

But I've got something else for you.

My husband and I. Infertile couple. In twenty years of marriage we have had one pregnancy resulting in one child. Medically a miracle child. I was "visited" one night and told I would concieve that very nice, the EXACT date it would be born and that he would be a boy. It ALL came to pass. Every single thing I was told. These visitations weren't visual, but rather auditory communications. Again, this happened approx 3 am. and woke me up out of my sleep.

Also, have had white figures, twice, sort of floating over the bed. Their presence awakens me and I can see "something" floating there. It startles me and I kick it away and it immediately disappears. They don't seem evil, they just startle me and then leave.

And another strange nighttime visitation there were two beings standing outside my bedroom door. There is a staircase right there and they were on the stairs peeking trhough the railings, hence their heads were floor level, (since they were half way up the flight of stairs) They were standing there observing my husband and I. I saw them and we made eye contact. I was terrified and in a moment they were gone. It felt like I'd switched time lines, as crazy as that seems, that is what it felt like.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1131242

Wow! thanks for the story. where do we put you? Alien visitation? I really don't know with this one. We could say immaculate conception by an entity resulting in a cambion, a demonic visitation or angelic if you will. Or perhaps a manifestation of your stress of your inability to concieve. Love your story thanks.

i had this happen to me when i was about 19 i think. I remember going to sleep. Then i woke up in the middle of the night and for some reason i coud not move my hands or legs as i wanted to turn and switch position. I also felt very agitated and felt there was something there. Suddenly i fell back asleep and it felt like a dream like i was in a spaceship and 4 aliens were working on me, taking out my sperm. I do not think they hurt me and i do not know if i have any indications on my body as they are not apparant. After they were done, i woke up again, and i could move. I was scared to sleep then.

I have had sleep paralysis before, and I can tell you that it is a very real experience. A person of low intelligence (most likely american from the midwest etc) could interpret, an experience like this as an alien abduction.

Because i'm not an idiot, I realized what was happening to me, when it happened. You are fully awake, and you cannot move a muscle, you will also hallucinate, for me they were ghosts flying around above my head. If I had not previously read about sleep paralysis, I would have freaked out.

What you are trying to say is that our location influences our hallucinations and experiences during SP no? Or maybe you are trying to say that the entity is indeed real and subject to it's surroundings. In the case of the old hag, tell me.... why does a middle aged man in London experience and old hag which has very little effect as a fear inducing figure in today's modern society, and why does a man in Japan see the same grudge-like hag???

I guess I should add, although I was scared, these visits have always been good. The birth of my son was 100% divine intervention in some way, shape or form. All good. I'm forever grateful. Also, in every single case the "beings" have left if I was scared and asked them to leave. And immediately. I just have to say "I'm scared" and it's gone in less than a moment.

Well I get occasional sleep paralysis. Maybe once a month. Some months not at all. I usually see black holes in the wall. Or it seems as if furniture has vanish and I can see right through it. Book shelves, weights, chairs. I guess the idea that material is an illusion might be why my brain can't see furniture in this state.

Only once did I get attacked by some dark dragon looking entity. But I cursed it and it never came back. I look it right in the eyes and that made it angry. I guess because I wasn't scared of it. But whatever they are they aren't as powerful as you think.

Thankyou AC, i enjoy your post because it is unbiased. Also i am interested in the connection to your parents. As for marks, i interviewed an elderly woman in germany who claims she was abducted by aliens on a regular basis since she was 16. She later told me that they were in fact 'demons' as she is christian and she suffers from sleep paralysis. However she awakes from SP with triangular marks in un noticed places, this time on her calf. Interesting phenomena to think about no?
 Quoting: Jet Wylie

Well, I grew up Christian, so I have a bit of a bias that leans me towards the demonic/angelic explanation, but I try to be open.

I never noticed any markings on myself after a sleep paralysis episode. Though I should also tell you that I have had many girlfriends complain that I snore really loud and I have also been alerted that I may have sleep apnea as apparently I sometimes just stop breathing in my sleep. Any connections? Who knows, but worth mentioning.

I've also have many instances when I was younger (teens and twenties) where I would wake up lying upside in bed or sideways. Did I move around that much? I also sleep walk, but only if I have been drinking heavily before bed and if I am also extremely short on sleep before consuming alcohol, and even then it is not always. During one sleep walking episode I woke up on my girlfriend's bathroom floor, during another I carried a hot pot of coffee upstairs and set it next to my bed... As you might guess I find walking up and down steps and carrying around hot and breakable objects while asleep a bit dangerous, so I try not to drink if I am short on sleep any longer.

Other points you might find of interest: I have had many paranormal experiences in my life, am probably precog and empathic too (I feel pains in my body where other close to me are plagued), and both me and my parents messed with the occult at a young age. Electronic equipment tends to go haywire around me, etc. I even experienced poltergeist phenomenon with a witness.

But back to sleep paralysis. I have noticed that often when I awake into sleep paralysis or come out of the paralysis I will hear a clapping noise. It usually appears to be coming from the corner of the room, often the northwestern corner of the room in my current location.

I have awoken with scratches on my body many times in the past, but I've never been able to show they had any connection to sleep paralysis (not saying they don't though - I don't know).

Also interesting that you mentioned a German woman as that is my ancestry on my father's side. I am germanic and scots-irish. Well, technically the germanic part is speculation as we came from the alsace region which is the border area of france, germany, and switzerland, but that was like eleven generations ago, back before the American Revolution.

Perhaps you might consider creating a questionaire that individuals who have had sleep paralysis can fill out if they choose and then posting it? Then you could get more details on the things you are interested in.

I myself am half german and i am currently in France in the French Alps, i am researching a light aura that occurs in a place called Les Houches. I have suffered SP, on and off in my life and when i first experienced it i was a student in a catholic college and thought it was a demon. My freelance research into the UFO phenomena which takes all over the world has reignited my fascination. It was with that german woman that sparked it and i am now trying to find connections between UFO sightings and SP, and abductions but that is another long story for another time. I have been from aboriginal caves in Australia, to Korean temples and Egyptian pyramids as well as the nazcar plains in Peru. What sparked my interest is the consistency of the abduction details to SP, there i came across the old hag and mr. shadow.

Re: Alien abduction, Old Hag Syndrome, Sleep Paralysis.

A very real experience, I have only had it happen 2 or 3 times in my life. If you want to experience this yourself, I recommend over sleeping. Force yourself to sleep 12-14 hours, and the odds of it happening are much much higher.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1294656

Youre nuts talking about low intelligence., Ive had a friend who had a good job as a undercover police officer. He had a implant removed from his nose and have seen UFOs.. Aliens do exist

Also many that I know in military know that aliens do exist and the can hover and cloak to render themselves invisible

Theres more out there than we can comprehend.

After eyewitneses have seen me followed by a plasma orb in broad daylight, I experienced sleep paralysis and woke up to hands pressing something into my head, I wasnt on a ship, I guess they can come to you..

Your comment was smart mouthed and had no bearing to the thousands that know and believe

Re: Alien abduction, Old Hag Syndrome, Sleep Paralysis.
I also want to mention that when I was heavily into witchcraft I dated several women who had experienced a dark figure in their dreams. They all described him as the same individual with a hat and long hair.

The coven I was involved in at the time was mostly comprised of women and ALL of the women described this man and claimed to have dreams about him, and at least one of the men (not me) claimed to have seen him as well.

I've experienced both sides of the religious spectrum (as far as Christians are concerned), and I have had the unique opportunity to observe all sorts of paranormal phenomenon from both sides of the spectrum.

I can tell you that there are "other beings" out there for absolute certain (as real as any of us) that you can sense with your actual 5 senses, without drugs, and without trances or anything of the sort. Not just that, but that others can experience them at the exact same time as you, in the the exact same way.

I don't know if they are demons, but I am certain that the description of demons and angels fits into the description of other entities I have encountered, though never during sleep paralysis.

I am currently floating two possibilities, one being that there is an interdimension or extradimension commonly called the spiritual which is inhabited by "other beings", and the other being that we are dealing with metamorphosis that also deals with other dimensions. Human beings might actual be a stage in this metamorphosis or not. If so, it might explain the interest in our health and reproduction that these entities have. Also, the greys could be considered nymphs. This metamorphosis could be an extremely long process, much like a periodic cicada. Such a phenomenon could be something that takes place every so many thousands of years or so after the nymphs are awakened by electromagnetic or heat phenomenon (would explain why the a-bomb explosion increased sightings and why aerosols are being sprayed in the atmosphere to heat the planet).

Another note of interest would be that metamorphisis would explain shapeshifting and also the funny descriptions of angelic beings that have wings and faces of bulls and men, etc. Also would explain Revelation Chapter 9 and the locusts. I don't know where I'm going with this second theory, it's actually a new thought that I am toying with, but that's not what your thread is about, so I'll just stop there.

Maybe we live in a multiverse, overlapping millions of universes at once. Imagine how a 2D being would percieve a 3D being such as yourself. Just a funny idea to entertain yours, have a great day :)

right when he walked in, like in the center of my head i could hear him saying "awwW look at my brother sleeping"
i was shocked because his lips weren't moving at all. he walked out and turned on the music loud and then i woke up.

one night i prayed if i could get help having an OBE, as i fell asleep i was immediately OBEing and shortly after warm hands grabed my hands and began pulling me as if i where being pulled out of my body by some random entity i was freaked the fuck out and i forced myself to wake up, i regret it though because i knew somthing was trying to help me OBE
but it felt extremely wierd feeling hands pull me half way out my body.

another time i was trying all night to try to get myself to obe i finally was able to do it the morning. new it was morning because when i was OBEing i saw the sun going though my and my astral eyes where open, my only problem was to separate myself from my body i wiggled and tryed to turn over and all of a sudden telepathically i could hear a voice sayin " what are you doin? you cant get out of your body you cant do it you cant do it!"
and then once again i was frightened and woke up to the sun shining through the curtians..

...

The connection is that there be no connection, Old hag of 2000 yrs ago, is nothing more than same entity of the others. The only possible connection could be location, location, location.

Hence villiagers don't have experiences with ufo's but rather wilderness monsters. Little boys don't have experiences with Big foot but rather closet monsters and so on
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1316207

What you are trying to say is that our location influences our hallucinations and experiences during SP no? Or maybe you are trying to say that the entity is indeed real and subject to it's surroundings. In the case of the old hag, tell me.... why does a middle aged man in London experience and old hag which has very little effect as a fear inducing figure in today's modern society, and why does a man in Japan see the same grudge-like hag???
 Quoting: Jet Wylie

its all based upon what the human mind consumes. There is a definite cultural connection of fear. It took along time to figure this out myself, enough to be satisfied its all the same thing.

What I mean is that if a saw a wearwolf man i would probably laugh or atleast know it was in disguise. I wouldn't fear it as much. Samething with Dracula, could you imagine, however, people lost their minds about these things back in London or where ever. Fear embraced them.

Everyman truly has a great fear and that is what they feed upon. Mine is complete darkness, though it knows this. I am not as afraid of being eaten by a monster as much as am of being taken in the middle of the night and flown off to a place further than furthest star placed by God
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1316207

Yes but... haha i know i am repeating myself here, but why an old hag?? What does she have to do with modern culture. UFO's i can understand and a shadowy malevolent figure i can understand, but her i cannot.
 Quoting: Jet Wylie

When I was just a boy about 5 years old, I saw the old hag one night when I was staying with my Grandmother. I was sent to my grandmothers room to go to sleep while she finished her last ciggaret, anyways, there is no way I fell asleep because her room scared me with old english furnature. One in particular was a giant wooden medicine cabnet that I used remember coming alive from previous visits.

Suddenly the door which was open enough to let in light cracked open more and I sat up thinking it was my Grandmother. What I saw was absolutely terrifing... It was an old lady on all fours with white long hair and a face of an old woman whos mascarra had ran down her face from crying. All the sudden it came trampling towards my side of the bed, now, between the bed and the door was approximately 15 feet, I jumped from the end of the bed out the door in one leap. I cried hystaricly with my grandmother and she just said i missed my mom.

Now, hear is your connection so listen close

Objects, especially antique objects can carry these demonic entities through being cursed. My Grandmother, was a Catholic and still is and in short her home is riddle with blasphamy of the Lord all over her house. One in particular, is she had a fairly large crusifix of Jesus and also hanging from the cross was a rosemary. Listen, people and hear my warning, do not bring into your home a crusafix for demons love them. It is nothing more than the celebration of the murder of Jesus the Christ.

Re: Alien abduction, Old Hag Syndrome, Sleep Paralysis.
When I experienced sleep paralysis I awoke and couldn't move anything except for my left eye. It was an Intensely emotional experience for me in an unexplainable way, i saw a purple light like a black light flooding the room and I remember feeling a presence to the right of me but I could not see it because my right eye did not work. All in all though the emotions I experienced felt positive and I felt good about what had happened.

Re: Alien abduction, Old Hag Syndrome, Sleep Paralysis.
yes, I have had it for years. I awaken with a weird vibration going through my entire body, I hear a strobing sound and a demon like thing is over me. sometimes I will be dreaming of an unknown person trying to gain my trust and as soon as I let them come close to me, they turn into the demon thing.

Re: Alien abduction, Old Hag Syndrome, Sleep Paralysis.
According to my own research, in most sleep paralysis episodes, the victim experiences 3 major entities/hallucinations. 1. Alien abduction is consistent with sleep paralysis in most cases. 2. In Newfoundland and England people experience an old hag, which i must add is documented back over 2000 years. And 3. A shadowy figure who either stands at the foot of your bed and/or attacks the victim violently. If you do suffer from SP i would really like to know which of these you experience. Yes i am aware of the scientific explanations and yes i have heard many christian inputs about demons, so i would appreciate no bible bashers or people who have a self taught degree. I merely want to compare the entities and include them in my research to find a connection.
 Quoting: Jet Wylie

Ive experienced it a few times in my life. The first time, it was accompanied by a loud, whooshing, roaring sound in my ears. I didn't see anyone, but I couldn't move.

Other ones started with a very palpable buzzing vibration, as if my entire body went to sleep.

I've experienced one where it felt like I was actually having my soul removed from my body.

The last few that happened, I learned to 'fight' it with my mind and actually kind of looked forward to it as an exercise. If you visualize in your mind's eye actually fending it off with your mind, it goes away (in my experience)

Re: Alien abduction, Old Hag Syndrome, Sleep Paralysis.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1331297

What sparked my interest is the consistency of the abduction details to SP, there i came across the old hag and mr. shadow.
 Quoting: Jet Wylie

OH? Then your research has taken you near GENeva, which I am convinced plays an important role in all of this. How are the Juniper trees over there? I hear the berries are good for GIN. Could there be a connection between sleep paralysis and the jinn?

I don't know if there is any potential connections with ancestry anywhere, but there is something about that region...

In any event...Have you considered the common thread of electromagnetism? UFOs are known to have electromagnetic properties and paralysis is caused by interfering with the nervous system. And as I said, the sensation of a weight on your chest could also be caused by an interference in the nervous system. Such energy could also cause audible noises or the perception of them, including buzzing or humming sounds.
