A glowing skeleton approaches the foot of the bed, turns to face the bed, stands over the bed gazing at the sleeper with his eye sockets for a moment, then lunges shrieking.

Re: Alien abduction, Old Hag Syndrome, Sleep Paralysis.
I've suffered from sp from age 8. It started off as being half asleep with out the ability to move. As stated above I was also the youngest child. As the years passed I eventually learned that if I was physically exhausted I was going to have another episode. And I would mentally prepare myself.
The key was to either force a scream out or physically move. Though most of the time I'd have to wait it out. Extremely scary stuff as a child! A few things about me. At the age of five my mother dated a black man (im white) who at first was very loving. He began to beat the shit out of my brother and I. I had it the worst because of my age and my brother being stronger than I. That lasted about a year.
Soon after I was given to my father who I had never previously met. I developed a studdering problem which my father also has. Having a studder changes your thought process. You think more and say less to not attract ignorance. People in this world can be very cruel! The studder made my mind race giving me more mind control.
As I got older I noticed the majority of the episodes happened when i fell asleep on my back. As an adult the demons came out to play. One indecent I woke up on my couch and noticed something in the backroom. As my vision focused I say a demon running full force towards me.........then I wake up and I'm in the exact position on the couch as I woke up in the dream. It scares me just writing this.
I'm now 29 years old. Three years ago I redescovered pot. I havent had one since. For those of you who are against pot don't let the government scare you. It is not a drug but a medication. A medication that I believe can cure alot more than we can imagine.
Hopefully this helps your research. I tried to include as much as I could with out writing a novel. If you need more input don't hesitate to ask.

Re: Alien abduction, Old Hag Syndrome, Sleep Paralysis.
have had it on and off my whole life...

The first time I was young 6 years old... again at 7, except..... That time i woke up, to something at the end of my bed... It was a small creature bit me on the foot, and I fell back asleep.... <<< For real, haunts me to this day.
My most recent was something looking at me.... with big eyes... always everything i've interacted with had big eyes..
Everyone in my family gets it...

I Think though it might have to do with entities who are preying on you in a frail moment.

Re: Alien abduction, Old Hag Syndrome, Sleep Paralysis.
According to my own research, in most sleep paralysis episodes, the victim experiences 3 major entities/hallucinations. 1. Alien abduction is consistent with sleep paralysis in most cases. 2. In Newfoundland and England people experience an old hag, which i must add is documented back over 2000 years. And 3. A shadowy figure who either stands at the foot of your bed and/or attacks the victim violently. If you do suffer from SP i would really like to know which of these you experience. Yes i am aware of the scientific explanations and yes i have heard many christian inputs about demons, so i would appreciate no bible bashers or people who have a self taught degree. I merely want to compare the entities and include them in my research to find a connection.

Here is my experience

Sleep Paralysis

My most recent episode. I woke up in the middle of the night, around 3 am, and was paralyzed from the neck down. Also, I had no voice with which to scream. The only thing that seemed to work were my eyes. It was dark, obviously and there was something standing over me. Not at the foot of the bed, but beside me. This "thing" was very tall. I'm talking ceiling height because it was near the roof of my canopy over my bed. Anyhow, I remember not being able to scream at it outloud and I was so brave and screamed at it from in my head to GO! I very sternly said it must leave me because it was frightening me....and quick as a flash it was gone. Then I was able to move again and quickly cuddled up to my husband. LOL It might have been a dream, but my goodness, it was so real.

I'd never heard of the old hag until I looked it up the next morning.

But I've got something else for you.

My husband and I. Infertile couple. In twenty years of marriage we have had one pregnancy resulting in one child. Medically a miracle child. I was "visited" one night and told I would concieve that very nice, the EXACT date it would be born and that he would be a boy. It ALL came to pass. Every single thing I was told. These visitations weren't visual, but rather auditory communications. Again, this happened approx 3 am. and woke me up out of my sleep.

Also, have had white figures, twice, sort of floating over the bed. Their presence awakens me and I can see "something" floating there. It startles me and I kick it away and it immediately disappears. They don't seem evil, they just startle me and then leave.

And another strange nighttime visitation there were two beings standing outside my bedroom door. There is a staircase right there and they were on the stairs peeking trhough the railings, hence their heads were floor level, (since they were half way up the flight of stairs) They were standing there observing my husband and I. I saw them and we made eye contact. I was terrified and in a moment they were gone. It felt like I'd switched time lines, as crazy as that seems, that is what it felt like.

what peaks my interest is teh fact U mention U felt like U switched time lines...ive felt this too, but twice now.
it is exactly how it feels and although i found the sensation DISTINCT in that i KNEW it was a timeline switch...something to make one go mad really.
the whole sensation is hard to describe.

Re: Alien abduction, Old Hag Syndrome, Sleep Paralysis.
its so scary. anyways i am a christian who lives on the east coast of the united states. I get sleep paralysis once a month (typically).

It is always a dark, shadowy figure. I feel as tho it wears a large dark hood, but im not really sure because i cant lift my head up to really look.

The one thing i have done to help breal the paralysis is to focus all your energy (i know its hard but this has happened to me for over 15 years now so ive gotten good at breaking it) but focus ALL ALL ALL of your energy on a finger. With all the strength of this focus, just TRY TRY TRY to bend ever so slightly one of your fingers. Then, just as you bend the finger in even the tiniest, slightest fashion, the paralysis will break. I know its hard, but just read this and think about it. It will help your brain think about the finger bending method, and once you just move it a tad, the paralysis breaks and thank God because that was some scary shit!!!

Apparently that is a successful technique, also people report that when they call out for Jesus the entities dissipate. That alone is a compelling argument that the entities are merely a manifestation of the experiencers mind, as they lean on their their religion to cancel out the attack. I'm not saying that's what I believe but it is fact among many scientists and philosophers today.

Re: Alien abduction, Old Hag Syndrome, Sleep Paralysis.
I have had sleep paralysis one time in my almost 50 years. My kids were small, it was just the three of us at the time. They were asleep in the other room.

I had fallen asleep with a small reading light on so my room did have a little light. I had been awakened by someone or something entering my room. I had been sleeping on my side facing away from the door.

I have always woken up when anyone enters a room where I'm sleeping. It's weird. But this time, I could not move. I did not see anyone, and I could not call out. My eyes would not even move.

I could "feel" myself being watched. My arm was frozen in an upward position from the elbow. I had a phone right there! I could not even get to it.

I had a fan running in my room that drowned out any noise, so all I could do was focus my hearing for any signs of movement. It was several minutes, but I did finally hear a door shut. The paralysis broke, and I called the police.

They searched the area and could find nothing. No footprints in the wet grass, no wet footprints in my apartment, no forced entry.

I had later found out from another officer that there was reports of a man with a dog going into homes to watch people sleep.

I know someone was there otherwise I would not had woken up. Never happened before then, and hasn't happened since.

Re: Alien abduction, Old Hag Syndrome, Sleep Paralysis.
I've experienced what could be described as SP. I get the feeling someone has entered my room and sat down on the bed beside me. I can actually feel the weight of the person on the bed. Scary. I have tried to hit or catch whomever but never anyone there. Then just the other night I was woken by the feeling someone had put their hand on my back as they were leaning over me. I kept swatting them away. After a couple of times with the back they switched to my legs. So I'd kick and pull on blanket to get them to stop. Finally just turned on the light and went back to sleep with no further disturbance.
I've never seen anything or anyone during this experiences.
Pretty freaky feeling though. Interesting topic.

Re: Alien abduction, Old Hag Syndrome, Sleep Paralysis.
I have had at least 2 distinct cases of sleep paralysis.

The first case was when i was around 22 and living at home, although my parents we're away on holiday and i was the only one in the house.
I definitely woke up, or so i thought, i was floating in the top corner of my bedroom while viewing myself sleeping. I think this was followed by some sort of panic from me, then i must of broke the sensation to find myself fighting in bed to draw breath, as it felt as if i was being crushed.
Once i came around fully, i got out of bed and checked the whole house, i would explain the episode as a definite inclusion of myself into something.

The second case was about 7 years later when i was living by myself. I had come around in bed, or so i thought but the only way i can explain what i felt was that i was in a wind tunnel, or some kind of powerful draught, i definitely screamed out but i don't think i heard anything. I shortly came around and again, i was somewhat disturbed by this episode.

I have felt him physically trying to pull me off of a bed that I was sharing with my then boyfriend.
He kept saying I was his over and over.
I've even seen him once in the daytime-not asleep either but sitting with a friend.
He walked up to the door and I got up to answer it, my friend asked what I was doing and I told her.
She said no one was there but when I got to the door there was a black cat on the porch.

I have had SP on many occasions that have also included:

Old hag experience.
Somebody walking into the room and standing at the end of the bed.
Somebody standing beside the bed and talking to me.
Stiffling feeling of something untoward and not nice very close.

However, not all of my SP experiences have been bad, some have been very unusual experiences.

However, not all of my SP experiences have been bad, some have been very unusual experiences.

Re: Alien abduction, Old Hag Syndrome, Sleep Paralysis.
Happened to me once.

Awoke to an evil presence seemingly floating above me. Could not see anything; room was totally dark and whatever it was, didn't glow. I tried to rebuke it in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ but found to my horror that I couldn't move my mouth, tongue, lips, or whatever. I had heard of sleep paralysis and I realized that I was experiencing it -- that's why I couldn't talk. So I prayed in my head, "Lord please loosen my mouth so I can rebuke it". Moments later I was able to speak, I commanded it to leave, and it vanished.... never to return.

No I can't describe any of them, I would never open my eyes because I was too scared lol.

The old hag feels like somebody sitting on your chest, it's hard to breath and a horrible foreboding feeling of dread is felt. Very difficult to move and it takes all of my willpower to get out of it.

Somebody standing there, I have no idea who they are. It is quite disturbing to hear the footsteps make their way up the hallway and come into the bedroom and then just stand at the end of the bed. It used to feel as though I was going to die from fright.

One of the most physically uncomfortable experiences was waking up but not being able to move, unfortunately, I had my right arm draped across the front of my body and my hand near the side of my neck, my fingers were twitching or something, because they were tickling me and I was in agony as I couldn't move to stop it, that was NOT nice.

Re: Alien abduction, Old Hag Syndrome, Sleep Paralysis.
I've been investigating this for years. I believe there is a connection, but there are even deeper connections if you wander into other areas such as abductions. Then you get into stories of jinn, elves, fairies, etc. All entities that kidnap people, steal things, and either live below ground or fly through the air. ALL of which also supposedly have the ability to "magically" manipulate a person including paralysis.

I've suffered from sleep paralysis, but I have never seen anything, just awoken with an inability to move. I never felt anything scary in the room either. Also, my father suffered from sleep paralysis when he was younger and night terrors when he was older. He and I also used to get leg cramps in our sleep (calf muscle). I don't know if the muscle cramps are related, but I just thought I'd mention.

As far as I know my older brother never had these things happen. Another interesting point would be that both myself and my father are the youngest sons. Again, don't know if that means anything, but it is a detail he and I share.

I have had ONE dream that I believe could have resembled a succubus, but it was not an Old Hag attack. It was a dream about a redhead, slightly unattractive who laughed and told me she'd be back in a month. The room in the dream had strange writing on the walls, like graffiti written in blood. As far as I know, she never came back, but then again I might not have recalled the dream if she did.

My mother and my aunt both experienced the "heavy chest" syndrome. Where they were convinced something heavy was sitting on their chests.

Whenever I experience sleep paralysis I simply fight to move and eventually I break free and am able to move. No need to cry out for help and say any magic names. I simply become extremely determined to move and within a few seconds I can, which leads me to believe that some sort of process is cutting off the signal from your brain to the nerves that control your muscles, but that the "link" can be re-established with intense conscious thought and an actual real effort to move. So "if" there are actually entities doing this their method is not foolproof and some individuals are capable of moving if they exercise their will in a very determined way.

Heaviness of the chest (in some people) would indicate to me as well that some sort of interference is happening within the nervous system to create this sensation. Sorta like how some bugs or serpents can entrance or paralyze their victims with neurotoxins or hypnotic suggestions. Though another possibility is simply being awakened while in deep sleep and the chemicals or hormones that cause that deep sleep are still too powerful to make yourself move (these chemicals are a natural defense to keep you from moving around and hurting yourself during deep sleep). HOWEVER, if a vicitim of sleep paralysis shows signs of being marked or bruise the natural explanation goes out the window, as if they are paralyzed they would be unable to accidentally or intentionally mark themselves. Signs of marking would indicate external influence.

--------------------> You just experienced me to a tee!

I go through this twice a week and fight my way out.
It's really, really hard to do, but can be done.

I do it and than I cover the sheets over my head and sit there for about 30 minutes before I can fall back asleep.

It's so intense, it really scares me to think where I would go or what might happen if I just let it takes it course.

I always say I am going to let it go, let it take me, then it comes and I can't help but to fight it and wake up!

Crazy!hiding

Yes it is so scary because it triggers your fight or flight response. It's as if you really are about to die.

I was banned today so this is from my phone. I wouldnt waste time writing this if it wasnt true. I'm over 30 and my whole childhood(5-12) I suffered night terrors. Real scary shit. Walking in my parents room saying things to my parents in a trance like state like " I love you, they are taking me now".

I grew out of them around 13 and didn't have them again until age 24/25. At this same age when the nts came back I started having SP. For me it's either a few months of nts or a few months of SP . Never had both around the same time. Till this day the most I go without a nt or SP is max two months. When I am having nt and SP they happen several times a week even back to back nights. Ok now for what I experience. Most of the time I wake up can't move anything but my eyes. All I can do is concentrate very hard(harder than I can when awake. Weird huh) and sometimes I'll shake out of it other times fall back asleep. When it's happening I have this feeling of "whatever you do don't fall back asleep" it's about 50/50 as far as coming to or falling back asleep. The worst part is trying to scream but only the slightest moan comes out. One night my wife actually heard me looked at me with my eyes open and asked if I was ok and after I didn't answer she went back to sleep. It was a sobering moment for me. I am so used to them, and this is no shit, when they happen now I can actually think to myself" it's ok just concentrate". Weird huh.

Ok only once have I experienced shadows during the SP but I think I see shadows alot during a normal day so maybe it's just not enough for meto notice during these episodes.

However ....... About a year ago I woke up in SP but something was very very different. I woke up to a very very very loud buzzing/whooshing sound all around me. A few seconds later I saw a very bright light covering the whole ceiling while the buzzing continued. A few seconds later it felt like my bed was raising up to the ceiling towards the noise and light. I looked over towards my wife and she wasnt there. I eventually snapped out of it right before my bed hit the ceiling. Woke up and my wife was laying right beside me. I've got to be honest this shook me alot and I recently got over it. None of my other SP experiences compared to this. I believe in ets but not necessarily in abductions but this really had me thinking. So I'm not here to say I was abducted but everything I said happened...qt least in my head.

Now the night terrors are more scary for the people who witness me going though one than it is for me.

Btw I was adopted at birth and had a great childhood and adult life.

Thanks for starting this thread!

Thankyou very much for taking the time to type all that on your phone!! Yes it definitely sounds like the beginning of an abduction experience. Alot of people who experience that didn't believe in ET's. I myself have personally experienced the buzzing sound and it is disturbing. I am sorry to hear you suffer from night terrors also. Tell me about your regular sleeping patterns, and do you drink on a regular basis??

Re: Alien abduction, Old Hag Syndrome, Sleep Paralysis.
I have had hundreds , maybe thousands of SP episodes. I say this because from about the age of 12 to about age 19 I had an episode every time I slept or napped. I would dread falling asleep. When I got fed up and stopped being so afraid of sleep I got less episodes. These evil spirits feed on fear. I probably get an episode once a month now , more of a nuisance when I sleep now.

I'll also add my typical episode. Two types of episodes for 1. Can't move or breath feels like I'm about to die or 2. Can't move, but can hear(laughing, voices), sense, feel evil presence.

When number 2 happens and I open my eyes I see some very weird stuff. I have seen the hooded figure one time, looked like a mini grim reaper. I see what looked like a giant snake also, but it's mostly shadow like figure. Even though I've had many episodes I almost never open my eyes, maybe 10-20 times tops. So who knows what I could have seen if I did.
