I was married to a BPD man for 22 years. They are indiscriminate shredders (shredding your life and everyone around you).

Fortunately, i found an awesome newsgroup for support (it was 1996 and newsgroups were popular back then). In that group, we called a BPD's modus operandi 'hoovering', meaning their favorite thing is to suck you BACK in...

One thing learned in that group is that BPD women are WAY more dangerous than BPD men. A BPD man will hit his partner with an open hand ~ whereas a BPD woman will pick up a gun and shoot her partner.

My ex-wife is BPD. It was hard to deal with, though I did for near on 6 years. I really did love her, dseeply, but she just got worst and worst. It became impossible to be patient and deal with it day in and day out as I had been doing.

One moment she was kind, compassionate, loving, soft and gentle. Then suddenly she would just become angry, irritated, upset and outright mean and cold. She would argue with me over the stupidest things, make me feel like a piece of shit and then not want to talk to me anymore... an hour or two would go by and she would come back and sneak up behind me, give me a hug and tell me how much she loved me (as if the last few hours didn't ever happen.)

On top of that if a girl flirted with me even lightly while we were out (even though I would never respond to the flirtations in kind) she would get incredibly pissed off and go into silent-cold-killer mode. The jealousy was just unbelievable though I never gave her ANY reason to believe I could possibly cheat on her.

There are many things in life that sucked that I would not care to repeat once again. However, I honestly can say that I would rather cut off my own scrotum with a spoon (slowly) than ever have a relationship with a woman like that again. I feel sorry for her, because I know men out there will just get together with her for sex and then leave her once they realize she is screwed up in the head... but what can one do?

I believe she was on psychotropics (SSRIs) at the time. Those drugs can make sane people become suicidal/homicidal over time.

Yep scrump, we're dealing with a 9 year old. You're right... moving on.

You probably need a hug and a stiff drink after all you've been through. There really is a post trauma when breaking free from a BPD person.

Co-dependent people have a REALLY tough time breaking away from a BPD person (pray for them)... so glad you guarded your sanity {grin}.

Didnt realize it at first. She seemed normal, very pretty... Never actually picked up on it until my life was so fucked up that i started seeing a shrink and telling her what was happening. She told me that my girlfriend sounded like she had BPD. Did research on it and it all clicked.

So many violent episodes where she would beat me. I never understood it. And she thought she was normal and it was all me. Such a bad experience. Such a bad experience. I dont know if I will ever fully recover.

A buddy of mine has been with a woman exactly like that for a year now and she moved in with him about 6 months ago. I saw the signs, had her pegged from a mile away and tried to warn him...

Now I'm hearing all the stories. Holy crap. He doesn't know how he's going to get her to move all her shit out now. The guy is f***ed...

Oh yeah. That's exactly what it felt like for a good 5 out of the 6 years. I just couldn't do it anymore. What I described in my last post would happen two or three times A DAY. I started dreading to come home from work...

Anyhow, I just wish her the best, I hope she finds someone who can tolerate her and actually love her. I couldn't do it anymore, though she realized that she was killing me slowly and chose to leave instead. Though, that too was funny, because then she would call me all the time and get upset because it didn't seem that I cared that she left (wtf?). I fell on my knees a thanked God for getting me out of that (we married before I came to Christ fully, and when I became a Christian she wanted no part in it... which, as you know, makes things even MORE difficult.)
