We have all heard the storyline. The Antichrist receives a fatal head wound, dies, and then rises from the dead. That is a myth. The Bible never says that. What it really says is difficult to follow, but I will try to sort it out for the reader because it is very important. It says:

Rev 13:1-4
13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?

Most people interpret this beast as being the Antichrist. But, we have already shown that there are several beasts mentioned in Revelation (see the thread called “The Beast of Revelation is the Antichrist”). This beast sounds just like the beast described in Daniel.

Dan 7:23-24
23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.

The beast is a kingdom. It is reprsented as a beast with 7 heads and 10 horns with 10 crowns. The angel explains that the 10 horns with crowns are kings.

This same kingdom is also mentioned in Rev. 17.

Rev 17:3
3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

This is the same beast described in Daniel 7 and Revelation 13. We have already established it is a kingdom and not the Antichrist. Whose kingdom does it represent? It represents the kingdom of Satan. Notice the beast is described as scarlet colored. There is another place in Revelation that describes that same beast.

Rev 12:1-13
12:1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:
2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.
3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon , having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon ; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.

It is the same beast. It is the dragon. It is Satan who caused a third of the angels to fall. It is Satan who comes out of the bottomless pit. It is Satan and his kingdom. Here it is again:

Rev 17:7-13
7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.
8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.
10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.
11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

Here the Bible defines what the 7 heads represent. They are seven mountains. Now go back to Rev. 13 were it says: “And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.” It isn’t the antichrist’s head that is wounded. It is one of the heads of Satans kingdom. The heads represent mountains. That head isn’t wounded to death. It is wounded as it were to death. In otherwords it appears to be fatal, but the wound is healed.

So, what do the mountains represent? Can a mountain be wounded? The Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Bible Commentary explains it like this:

As the head is the prominent part of the body, so the mountain is prominent in the land. So “mountains” have a symbolical meaning, namely, prominent seats of power. Especially such as are prominent hindrances to the cause of God (Ps 68:16, 17; Isa 40:4; 41:15; 49:11; Eze 35:2); especially Babylon (which geographically was in a plain, but spiritually is called a destroying mountain, Jer 51:25).

The seven heads represent seven prominent seats of power which hinder the cause of God. They are all Antichrist kingdoms. These kingdoms are Assyria, Babylon, Greece, Medo-Persia, Rome, the Revised Roman Empire, and the final kingdom of Antichrist. They each have leaders or kings. Five of them have fallen (Assyria, Babylon, Greece, Medo-Persia, and Rome). One of them is (the Revivied Roman Empire). And, one is not yet come.

One of those kingdoms or heads appears to have been fatally wounded but has been revived. The head that was wounded could be Rome. The Roman empire seemed to be dead, but the rise of the EU could represent a revived Roman empire. Or, if the final antichrist kingdom were Islam, then it could have been said to have recieved a fatal head wound when the Turkish Empire was defeated. The current muslim world lead by Iran could be a revived Muslim Kingdom. Either way, the beast is Satan and his kingdom and not the Antichrist. There is no Biblical basis for the idea that the Antichrist dies from a head wound and then ressurrects.

The beast is Satan and his kingdom, not the human Antichrist. The Antichrist isn’t shot in the head. Nowhere does it say he dies and is ressurrected. Satan can’t give life. He can only take it. If the Antichrist died, he could not be ressurrected by Satan. All of that is myth.
