Folks, do you think this guy in question is a stalker? I'd like some feedback, please
OK, there's this lady I know, and around Feb of last year she was dating a half Iranian guy for a month. They split up, and she hooked up with a new guy about 2 weeks after. She went through frequent break ups with the new guy but they always made up again.

Now each time she'd split, the half Iranian guy would always seem to immediately know about it, and he'd immediately contact her on facebook to get back with her, but she always told him no.

OK, so her and the other guy finally split for good in January, and the half Iranian ex immediately knew about the split and STILL made an attempt to get back with her. She blew him off yet again, and hooked up with a new guy 2 weeks after splitting with her other ex of 10 months.

Do you think this half Iranian guy is obsessively stalking her facebook page to see if she's split with her new beau?

I keep telling her that this guy seems fixated on her, and she shouldn't take it lightly, instead, he comments on her pics telling her she looks gorgeous and he adorable.

I just find this too weird seeing as she was only dating him for a month. Why would someone keep doing this?

my big question is why do people put their personal lives on facebook! Who she is dating and when it breaks up isn't anybodies business, but I suppose this may well be how this other one knows. If you are going to use facebook, don't put all your shit on it and don't give your link to anybody except folks who should have it.

She deleted him, so he cant get email notifications about her r/s status. So he must have been constantly checking her profile to see if her r/s status had changed (i think she made her r/s status public).

She didn't help matters by telling him he was sweet for saying she looks gorgeous (i told her this).

He looks like a creepy little bastard too.

That word gets abused alot. IMHO a 'stalker' is anyone someone else wants to marginalize. Sure, there are people who actually stalk other people, but like the man said words can't hurt you unless you've done something you want to hide, or you are trying to conceal your own true nature. Calling someone a stalker for asking you out repeatedly is asinine.

Why do i say this? The woman could easily block the dude, she's playin' him and saving him as a last ditch possibility.

FB stalking isn't illegal. That said, she needs to have her FB on completely private, or just have her relationship status say nothing or N/A, so that her ex can't check in and see her status daily/hourly.

ETA: she might be enabling him/leading him on in some way that she hasn't told you.

If she completely blocks him, he won't even be able to find her profile, let alone view it.

Most probably. And like I said in the previous post, she is playing with fire. She meets all sorts of men off facebook, and has 2000 friends, mainly all men who constantly comment on how gorgeous she is. I've told her, that she doesn't actually know these men, and any of them could develop an obsession with her and start stalking her.

My definition of a stalker is someone who actively pursues you, that is shows up where you are against your will. Internet 'stalkers' is just another way to marginalize certain people who know too much about other certain people. A stalker on the internet could be someone exposing a criminal or a hacker, or a conspiracy..

Naïveté could be an active part of the problem. Unfortunately, it won't go away until some sh*t hits the fan in her life.

She's somewhat of a narcissist, and constantly putting new pics of herself on FB, and fellas go crazy commenting on them. She has a new guy, but obviously doesnt give a shit about his feelings -- like the others before him.

Like I said, the shit will hit the fan soon enough when a crank out of her 2000 + friends list becomes overwhelmed with lust for her and starts stalking her. And I'm not just talking about the half Iranian guy either.

Most of her "male friends" on FB all are either drug addicts, alcoholics or have severe personality disorders, and she gives them her phone number! This one bipolar guy told her, "If I want pizza I have got to HAVE pizza" in reference to meaning that he HAS to have SEX if he wants sex. She even told me that she believed her mobile phone had been tapped by someone off facebook beause she could hear all sorts of strange noises in the background which are apparently consistent with phone tappping. Also her texts always seemed to arrive late, and when they did arrive they'd been jumbled up with texts from the day before.

ETA: she's been doing this for three years, and guys from all over the world, including the where she lives in the United Kingdom have been hung up on her for all that time. IMO these screwed up guys will become so consumed with lust that they will probably make it their business to go pay her a visit.
