I'll tell you the real solution, everybody organize to stop paying taxes at the same time. They wouldn't be able to counter that and you'd cut their lifeblood.

1./

I am just a tiny bit curious, since they are not going to pay military during this shutdown (so I understand at least) What the hell happens to all the troops around the world (Libya)?

2./

Why dont the U.S. gov't have money to spend on America - when they have money to spend on bombing the rebels, I mean Gadaffi.. I mean the rebels. Damn I don't know what I mean.. O.O

3./

Wasn't it all very convenient to suddenly have a shutdown, NOW, when rads are rampant and wars are being had?
And bunkers have been paid for... *cough*

Re: Why the Gubbermint is going to shut down!
Well how 'bout when Bush was touting at his press conference just 6 months after 9/11 that he wasn't spending much time on Osama bin Laden. I never knew he even said this until like 2008, but Bush actually saying, "I just don't spend that much time on him to be honest with you."? Or how 'bout the oodles of asbestos-infested trailers that were stored and ready to go but still sitting on the edges of highways for over a year following Hurricane KaTrina? Or Bush giving the President and the Executive dictatorial powers in a declared emergency that doesn't have to be reviewed for 6 months? Or how 'bout the fact that all of the de-regulation of Wall Street and the banks leading to wildly toxic assetts, with the credit-ratings agencies a part of this, and all of this happening before President came came into office? Now, I don't like Obama either, but how can we sit here and say that Obama is the worst we have ever seen? We have to get our heads out of the sands to see that all of our recent President have been working towards the same end-game, even if their approaches may seem different. They just so happened to want all of the this government control and regulation to come towards the very end when people had enough of 8 years of Bush and 12 - 14 years of Republicans, transmuting their hatred for Bush into love for Obama, this was all planned to happen as a means to get the public just enough trust to alloow them to push through what they could play off as being great for this nation. We are playing right into their hands by just blaming Obama and the Democrats. We need to blame ALL of Congress for what they have done, because many Republicans caved into the process due to bribery in the bills, giving their states things that weren't given to the rest of the states, absolute insanity.

Do you really think the Republicans have cared about the well-being of our nation? The Democrats not caring about deficits, are you kidding me, hello Bush?!?! They cared about deficits, government services? It was the Republicans' fault, although really both of them, but they had majority control of Congress back during the last government shut-down. This just goes to show that neither party is fit to lead, and why do we keep on choosing a supposed "lesser of 2 evils". Why are we choosing them at all, and answering that other parties just don't stand a chance of winning, well what a piss-poor excuse to not stand up for what you believe in. On a lil' side-note, how can Christians whom are supposed to be against what all governments have been doing to people, how can they support either political party, it just blows my mind away. We should be seeking change, and it can't be found in either of the 2 political parties, and really in no 3rd party either, but we at least need to start by not accepting anything more from the 2 major political parties that have proven decade after decade after decade that they fail the American people. This is what is wrong with democracy, where the majority rules, even 51% ruling over the other 49%, it's just ridiculous, which is why our founding-fathers never mentioned the word democracy neither within the Declaration Of Independence nor the U.S. Constitution. Our founding fathers weren't establishing a democracy, they were establishing a republic

They are arguing back and forth about an amount of money that is nothing more than 5 days of interest we owe on our deficit. Obama gets on talking about how he hopes they can come to an agreement? Are you kidding!!?

It isnt the money discrepency thats the problem, its the fact that the republicans plan drawn up by Paul Ryan abolishes "obama care" completely. Its the only thing the president has layed claim to as one of his great successes.

Agreeing to the plan is to admit utter failure to accomplish anything of significance for the american people by him or his administration.

Ive watched obama do more to devide this country in a time of war, when we all need to be united in our thoughts and efforts. "the minute i get in office, troops are coming home?" "Im gonna stop big gubbermint spending!"

Im am now of the opinion that the biggest threat to national security is the potus himself.

Im over 50 now, and served my country under Reagan as commander in chief. Ive never witnessed a president more cavalier, immature, juvenile in his behavior! Coupled with his detachment for the will of the american citizens. Ive never witnessed such a lack of humility when he addresses the american people. This peacock walks up to the podium as if he is the cock of the walk, and addresses us "look here's the deal" WTF!? We alllready know what the deal is! We just want to know when the fuck your going to do something intelligent about it!!!!!!?

The time for debate and banter has long since passed! When are you going to lead! We have catastrophic disasters on multiple levels around the globe! The gulf disaster! Where he touts that in less than a year fishermen will be fishing and the marshes will "bounce back"! Whilst thousands are still dying, BP is now drilling again and he says mother nature has cleaned it up!!?? WTF? Delusion, just maybe?

Fuckusshima? Now worse than chranobyl!!! Three wars going on to the tune of more than 30 billion a month for sure! Millions of americans kicked out of their home from deceptive lending, that our government went along with and supported!
When will he ever lead!!??

I think at this point it is going to shutdown, he will never agree to the cancellation of obama care! And what hppened to Obama care helping the deficit? Surely at this point everyone realizes that was a lie?

You said it all. The people voted for less government. Where is the will of the people.

And now, after the democrats lost, they say "can't we all just get along and work together". Their working together is compromise. We did not vote for our leaders to compromise but to do a job...save this country from the enemy within!

Ugh.. First of all, it's not a solar flare. Second of all, if it were a solar flare; a D.U.M.B. wouldn't help and they'd all be sealed into their tombs. I dunno why people rely on these "D.U.M.B."s considering the fact that most of them would prolly end up being more detrimental than helpful depending on the situation. (Not going off on you, just the notion. lol I'm not a d-bag.)

Good rant bro.

But lemme tell ya, if you expect the government to lead anything you are dead wrong. Government was made to administer not to lead. The country belongs to the people, when will the people stand up and take responsibility for what belongs to them?

Thats the question.

OK, all silliness and impoliteness aside, no more insults about intelligence from me, anyway, we're all intelligent enough here.

The Democrats are taking the chance that the govt shutdown will end up like it did last time, when the public turned against the big bad Republicans when the single mom govt workers started yelling that they can't buy food for their kids, etc. The Repubs, as usual with much hubris, are being played, suckered right into the briar patch by Obama. Because of what happened with the unions in Wisc, they are way overconfident, but the Dems will win this one again. That's why they're doing everything they can to allow the Repubs to shut the mutha down again. When it happened last time, in '95 or whenever, Clinton came out looking like a hero, and Gingrich never recovered politically. Same thing is happening now, although Boner (couldn't resist that one, it's so obvious) is certainly no Gingrich, and Obama is no Clinton. A LOT of people work for the govt, and they provide a LOT of services, so don't think shutting it down is gonna seem like a good idea in a week or two.

Nope, I don't have superior intelligence, but I CAN spell.

Re: Why the Gubbermint is going to shut down!
Since the Federal Government can't and will not make a budget,
the Governor of each State, should with hold any fund that are
sent to the federal government. They can pool their money to pay the military families or bring their state reserved military home. Use the money to keep the people in their states the best that they can.

There should be no taxes allowed out of the states to the federal government of any kind, until they get their personal
want's out of their systems, and start cutting the bloated government agencies in Washington D.C.. They need to make sure
the cuts are deep and never to uncovered again. They things that were run by the states should be sent back to the states to forever stay in the states.

The money is bogus and they need to fix that too. The ones that have been gaining from the corrupt federal reserve system
should be made to repay the people of this country, or go to jail.

Sorry guys took off for a bit had some chores to do before dark and had to eat dinner. Your right AC, im actually not trying to politicize any of this, only because it doesnt make sense from either side, republican or democrat. Even Boner just came out and said, "im not gonna just roll over so the american people can be sold out"? Are you kidding? Looking at the disclosure about governmental waste, corruption and involvement in the global market, i think we were sold out long ago.

Paul Ryan came up with an intelligent plan to elliminate alot of what weve been dealing with, a 6.2 trillion dollar plan that cuts in alot of areas that we probably all dont want. But this is a plan that will be implemented over 10 years. So even if it works in ten years if we stop big spending we still have 8 trillion in debt to deal with. Will that be done in another ten years? This is nothing but a bunch of crap.

Why dont we all get that kind of leeway to write off our own debt to them? You see how rediculous all this charade is. And if it doesnt shut down tonight we will still be dealing with it for many more months and possibly years to come. Its simply retarded. What happen to the american spirit that brought us out of the great depression? Why dont we suck it up stop all entitlement programs and quite giving american tax dollars out to the failing banks of the world? The government cant take care of their own bussiness or any of ours, there is a track record and history to look at. We are so in over our heads. We cant right our own terms for dealing with personal debt. How can we be in such debt from borrowing and then be writing our own terms of how we are going to get out of it. Something is bad wrong and i say utterly fake with what im seeing.

American small bussinesses will be able to get their loans? Its what Obammy just said! What another crock. Ive owned a small business for 14 years now, and for the last 2 years not a single dollar has been loaned to me, or to any of the big guys i do work for on the commercial end of things. Banks took our money with an understanding, that it was to help citizens, it hasnt happened yet and the potus is still running his mouth about it!
