The solar filament was spotted Tuesday (Nov. 16) by cameras on NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory, which stares at the sun continuously in different wavelengths. We don't. Science needs much more time to come to a conclusion beyond a reasonable doubt. Which involves lots and lots of events to create a statistical analysis that isn't corrupted by a few anomalies. In example, an average result of 10 flares of it's kind will be skewed by 10% or 10/1, meaning any data we get is near worthless.

Now if we recorded 150,000 hyder flares then we can get excellent data with conclusions beyond a reasonable doubt.
