Am I dead yet? Seriously, how do we know if this is really going to do anything significant?

Which involves lots and lots of events to create a statistical analysis that isn't corrupted by a few anomalies. In example, an average result of 10 flares of it's kind will be skewed by 10% or 10/1, meaning any data we get is near worthless. Now if we recorded 150,000 hyder flares then we can get excellent data with conclusions beyond a reasonable doubt.
