Is anyone else bored to death with life?
For the past several years (I'm 32 years old), I've found myself incredibly bored with everything life has to offer.

Of course there are things I enjoy, for a while, but there is nothing I really look forward to. Everything is so boring to me. Every topic, subject, activity... life itself is boring.

I'm not depressed. I'm just bored with living.

I don't welcome death, but I don't fear it either. And I can tell you right now that I do NOT want to come back again.

It's just too damn boring here.

Anyone else?

Do you have kids?

I'm thinking a family is supposed to take your mind off it for another twenty years or so until you're too tired to care about being bored.

I was wondering if someone would mention this. I am extremely spiritual now due to the utter boredom with life.

I am starting to look inward. I'm going within, because everything external is a huge bore!

No kids. Absolutely no interest in having children, nor getting married.

I just want to be alone really. But yes, I would imagine having a family would take your mind off of it all.

I don't understand why people do it, to be honest.

no because I have the greatest people surrounding me that anyone can ever ask for.

seriously.. people on the outside looking in actually come tell me I have the greatest people ever in my life that anyone can ever ask for.

not bragging just saying why I am not bored.

Well, if you are not afraid of death, then set some goals. Like, meditation on a mountain top or something. The second foot hits path that boredom will go away.

Boredom with life? Boredom with life is a cop out.
If you're bored with life, do something you'd never imagine yourself doing, something crazy that completely blows any impression you have of yourself away, and enjoy the experience. Skydive, hike a mountain, steal a car...
There's way too much anyone can do in life simply for the experience. If life sucks and you justify it with boredom, that's just coping. Becoming spiritual is not a bad thing, but in a case like that, it's just the next step in a false sense of self worth. Self worth is earned experiencing EVERYTHING life has to offer.
Beer + GLP makes me ramble.

Even excitement is boring. What's the point? The rush, the excitement, it all ends eventually. It's disappointing, and it's boring.

So you think maybe there's no point anymore? What's left? It's so bad that even the TERM excitement bears no meaning nor value anymore. Happiness is just a feeble thought of something you no longer care for or need.
You're a grown man. Buck up princess. Stop looking for sympathy from a bunch of strangers online to justify your hopelessness.
Maybe it'll be more exciting if you kill yourself, right? Hence the newly found sense of spirituality? Nobody wants you to do something stupid like that, not your family, not your friends, and not us strangers here on GLP that you hope to get some solace from.
I think I understand just fine. The past is in past and is gone (granted, not forgotten), the future has no guarantees and what we have right now is amazing, that's why it's called "the present".

Re: Is anyone else bored to death with life?
Hi,

I am not depressed either but i find this world tremendously boring and uninviting.

I don't want to commit suicide but i am terribly bored with all the stupid and trivial stuff that most of us enjoy.

I'm always dreaming of living on another realm with fantastic stuff to do like in fantasy role playing games.

This world have nothing to stimulated me enough.

So i truly understand how you feel.

I am 47 so in the next 5 to 20 years i will probably on the other side and my worst fear in death is to come back here.

I would prefer to be eradicated from existence then to come back here.

34 and feel the same way. maybe this is the new mid life crisis... i felt all my life like i was just biding time. never found my path or "what im supposed to be doing" and yes the day to day grind is quite mundane and i often hoped for a jet engine to rip off a planes wing and come crashing through my roof and put me out of this serial boredom.

however as of late i feel somthing is coming i cant quite explain it but somthing tells me whatever is going to happen is why im here. so im kinda excited. in the end maybe folks like us are just old souls that keep screwin it up and being sent back to earth till we get it right?

Also I'm not talking about happiness. You are equating boredom with a lack of happiness.

I already am "happy." Ok, I wouldn't really call it happiness, but I would call it content. I just have no desire to engage in any activities or pursuits because it bores me.

This doesn't mean I'm lazy. I have responsibilities, and I take care of them. I work, I pay my bills, etc. I just have no desire to DO anything.

Re: Is anyone else bored to death with life?
I completely understand you OP. I feel the same about life, and I am only 25 years old. This state of being if you will, happened to me after experiencing much that life has to offer in a short amount of time, followed by deep introspection and self discovery over the last couple of years. Even when I was a young teenager, I felt like an old soul. Actually on second thought, it's not so much that I feel bored with life, but rather that I feel completely free from all the things and events that people say they are living for. I have many abstract concepts in my head that are almost impossible to describe in words, that I honestly believe are snippets of experiences to come after this life is over...

Re: Is anyone else bored to death with life?
Over my decades of boredom I've pinpointed a few issues that seem to be the root cause.

Society is a closed-loop.

We have a limited range of experience available to us, by design.

Our creativity is suppressed or funneled into the mechanisms that keep us on hamster wheel.

Our dreams and hopes are stolen and sold back to us via cheap knock-offs.

There is no fulfillment in being a slave.

There is no fulfillment in living to work.

There is no fulfillment here at all.

Having kids is just bringing more slaves into the meat grinder.

Having a family is what's left from the engineered isolationism we face as a species.

And well, rampant engineered stupidity is boring.

In my opinion...

Some beings have lived the shit out of life here, and are ready to go explore other aspects of Infinity, leaving behind the human form/mind with it's own set of limitations...and some beings were never from this sphere of existence to begin with, and came here for various reasons.

Yup.

Re: Is anyone else bored to death with life?
Oh my fucking Godless, yes!. Anyone that has awakened to any degree is aware that 'LIFE' here is anything but what the word normally implies!.

My earliest memory back in '58 is standing outside at age 2 looking at the architecture of the houses on my block with an adult-like cynical summing up and thinking: "Is this all they got here??".

I was a true Iconoclastic Contrarian ..I hated just about everything that reeked of humanity on this planet from then on and most people were just 'things' to me. If I ever were to have a tombstone it would read 'there's nothing here, time to move on'

I have been waiting for the ships since the 11-11-92!. I don't care if they're real or not it's the principle that matters here! . and that would be hope for a future Utopia utterly DEVOID of the endless drudgery that exists for most of us on the planet now. All Bob Dylan wanted was to never have to do anything twice ..and FUCK!, I live in Northern California, we are ALWAYS a full decade ahead of the rest of the planet!!

Are Sheldan Nidle or Mike Quinsey for real?. All I know is that when they explain how our lives will be in a future, post First Contact Earth..it describes the world I was expecting to be living in when I popped out the pussy chute!

Hell YES I have NO KIDS!

REMEMBER! if you actually Liked being here you would have never found GLP to come here and read my long boring post.

Yeah I know just what you mean. I think its because we've lost sight of the what's really important in life. And we used to be so busy just trying to survive. We'd work physically hard to put food on the table and then be too tired to be bored. Now we have more or less all we want - what's the point?
