You read my mind. We are the same. I can't stand people and their games and the lame old traditions and whatever. We need to finally be free from all the political correctness. The relationships. The fake society. All of it is beneath me. I try to joke about it all but the realization of how low this plane of existence is can be depressing. I hope this ascension stuff is true because I don't want to be stuck here with all these egomaniacs.

Yes, life is boring. I have learned to call that "happiness" - the absence of pain and suffering, this is all we have to strive for.

You take nothing with you. There is nothing to strive for. It's an empty shell.

Dreams, those are less boring.

I have a child. Sometimes I feel guilt at having brought her into the world. Sometimes she tells me she's bored. I see parents that will go to any lengths to entertain their children. It baffles me.

Something is about to happen. This is the reason we volunteered to come here (again). I wish I could remember what it was, but then again, that would probably spoil the surprise, and then it would be boring too!!

I'm not sure if I can stand the excitement of what is coming, but I suspect it won't be as exciting as I've imagined/hoped. Probably some more boredom with extra pain and less conveniences.

Yep, I agree. Life is kinda boring. Most things get repetitive. Anyway, I had my fun in life and I hope life after death offers more, but I'm not holding my breath.

I'm 26 I feel the same way OP and I can relate to this. I have distance and freed myself of all these boring mundane distractions. I found that its just more rewarding to be yourself and improve. I just focus on being happy to live, learn, love, life. I may or not get the chance to get married and start a family, I am not ready for that at this time. It does not really matter, only if that is what you desire. Before I never really saw myself as having any purpose on living here, but though we may think we don't have one, we all have do. To live, learn, love, and life. I think that is what we are to do learn and get experience from it in the 3rd reality world, then graduation to the next. I believe we are in some very interesting times and I am looking forward to what lies ahead for us.

p.s. before Ford's assembly line was invented many people worked as true craftsmen and must have felt more fulfillment from work despite the long hours,low pay etc

I can realate to this as well, though my feeling is more of hopelessness, is this really what life is about. Am I supposed to do this until retirement then just lay down and die, I feel trapped by life and all "must do" its like there is nothing to look forward to always the same routine day after day. Don't get me wrong I have a good job and life in general still it feels like I took a wrong turn somewhere or at least was hoping for more somehow. I don't lack anything in the material area still I feel unsatisfied on the spiritual level.

It's as if the matrix has you and there is no way out and simply dropping everything is no solution either due to the responibility to provide for ones family. Maybe this is all there is to it and we simply have to accept things and live with them.

I had the same feeling about 2 years ago, every day the same boring routine.. I was getting depressed and bored with everything I did, until I decided my life had to change 100%.

I went to South Korea as an exchange student for a year. This has given me new energy and happiness, now I know what I really want to do with my life. In a couple of months I'm going to New Zealand for my internship to gain more new experiences! I will probably finish my degree in China or Singapore. Finally my days of boredom are over!

I would suggest to go abroad for a while, not on vacation but to live there for a couple of months! Take a break from your daily routine! It is an enriching experience, you will meet new people and learn to appreciate new cultures and ways of life. There are lots of opportunities!

The important thing to remember is that you should DO it. Dont think or daydream about things you want to do.. just DO IT!

I would not be totally surprised if I ended up in some Religitard's hell for all the hating I have done on this planet but ..

I agree maybe this is enough for some people to snap out of it though for me I've lived in three different countries and travel all over the world through my work and it doesn't help. It's a strange feeling and very difficult to explain unfortunately.

O.P. work & people mostly suck for me but hobbies have made my life worthwhile. I was fortunate to learn classical guitar back in '77 for 3 years from a world class teacher, a top student and close friend of Christopher Parkening and Pepe Romero.

I don't know if I can properly describe to you what its like to be in the presence of someone who had total mastery of craft as he did at the age of 28 and PLEASE! don't dare to compare his ability to some pathetic little rock god like Clapton or Page whom I also admire ..they never even cracked open a book on music theory where you have to learn to write in 4 part harmony what you hear by ear...let alone compose music for an entire orchestra

... except to say that I have been playing Bach for 34 years with everything I got and yes people are impressed but to give an analogy, I have only progressed from being an amoeba to the level of a worm in the classical guitar world!.

People are finding out materialism didn't mean that much. It doesn't make you happy. You spend your life doing boring, repetitive work in an office with a bunch of random strangers who then become your family at least 40 hours a week for the next 40 years so that you can buy things that don't bring you happiness. The things become obsolete, so you have to keep working harder so that you can replace them.

Determine what your REAL interests are and then try to find
a job or career that mirrors those interests. It might take a while to find but you are young enough to do it NOW.
Don't wait 20 years (I really don't think we have that long) - but who is to know.

Too bad, you're coming back again, no matter how "spiritual" you think you are.

Or did you think the more spiritual knowledge one has the less chance they have of incarnating? Big mistake.

How about a daily fight for survival in one of those African nations, or the want for space in Pakistan, India, China or Indonesia?

Be thankful it is damn boring, and all the while do something constructive with yourself, like growing as a person, some of those "evolving" experiences might just be had in those not so boring places on the planet. MOST people will be retuning to one of the nations I've mentioned above. Pretty much 2/3rds of the world's population is there afterall.

If you really don't want to come back again, perhaps you should start looking for the way that would make that wish come to fruition. Yet those who are bored with life are not so bored as to want to change their character and belief system, so stay static wishing to die or moaning about being bored, saying that life has nothing to offer them. Like that was it's meaning or something.

exactly. i think i am an old soul as well. strange but i also feel completely disconnected now from everything life has to offer, and it happened to me after becoming love sick and getting well again. now its just me and my thoughts

When I was a kid I was enchanted with the wind, blowing through my fingers. It felt like satin, only way more subtle and sleek. I would close my eyes and continue walking with this feeling, hoping I would become a wind too...

It's difficult for someone who sees this pointlessness in trying to find satisfaction in a world where nothing lasts forever, especially in the West, because so many people (read: nearly everyone) is doing such a good job acting as if there was some sort of real satisfaction to be found in temporary, worldly things. But most of them are just good actors, smiling faces trying to hide a miserable confusion and suffering, hiding from the terrifying news that there is absolutely no lasting satisfaction in worldly things. In believing in themselves as the person whom they are playing in the role of being a happy (or at least striving to be happy) person, they build industries of delusion. But the sad fact is that best-case they will make it to old age and become ugly and die after varying lengths of sickness. All that they've worked so hard for will be gone. Who can find satisfaction in that?

But real happiness exists. The truth is, you don't need anything to be happy, ultimately. Your very nature radiates happiness, once you discover it. But to discover this true happiness you need a guide. You need a spiritual teacher you can trust not only with this life, but with all your future lives. So set your intention with forethought. I hope you have the good fortune to meet with at least one teacher, and that you prove a worthy student to them.

The true key to happiness is ALTRUISTIC INTENT. If you seek happiness only for yourself, you will fail. You must intend unconditional happiness for yourself only so that you can bring this happiness to others. In fact, in setting others' happiness first, the better way to say it would be "In order guide others to happiness and liberation, may I discover true happiness and liberation." This is also how you will find a true teacher, since you must find a teacher with this intent in order to learn how to do it. This kind of love will amaze you. It is also the safely-check on your system so that you don't create a monster. Love and compassion are absolutely vital to your quest. They are the fuel. You will nead a master to guide you on the paths of meditation and proper view ("View" being the actual nature of you and all things). Your own mind and body will be the laboratory in which you apply the teachings and bring them to life.

I'm doing my best to represent what I've learned through the Dharma teachings. If I've misrepresented anything or misspoken in a misguiding way, I deeply apologize, and may I be forgiven. I hope that you find everlasting liberation and happiness..

I have the same thoughts sometimes, but I try to have fun with the time I have. Might as well live to the fullest before this shit hits the fan.

A child doesn't have to work, doesn't have to do much really outside of piss and shit. They don't seem bored.

Some seem quite content to suckle on teet, others merely sitting in a chair and watching the world.


Boredom, the result of too much thought, and very litle presence of mind. i.e living in the moment.

In a nutshell the opposite of boredom isn't excitement, it's a lack of CONCENTRATION. It's quite a common issue with people.


To improve matters.

Meditate, for example focus your inner attention at the forehead, or within at the pineal gland area. Doing this while faling asleep increases the benefits.

Drop sugar and caffeine from your diet.

Don't masturbate so much, especially during the day.

If you smoke stop it. It's a retarded addiction. Big problem.

Alcohol. May as well quit that too.

Keep your diet as plain as possible.


You'll be closer to natural living and thus won't be so bored.

When you consider yourself the center of the universe it follows that you might see things this way.
