TEPCO officials unsure of what to do next — KOREA calls Japan’s handling of Fukushima “incompetent”
… China and South Korea have also criticized Japan’s handling of the nuclear crisis, with Seoul calling it incompetent, reflecting growing international unease over the month-long atomic disaster and the spread of radiation. …

TEPCO… has been pumping in nitrogen to cool the core, but officials say they are unsure of what to do next.

“We cannot say what the outlook is for the next stage,” Hidehiko Nishiyama, a deputy director-general of the Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency (NISA) said on Sunday. …

I'd have to see the gov't.'s exact statement.

But, right on.

The Japanese gov't. should have taken over from TEPCO long ago.

This is a fiasco -- possibly the last such one on planet Earth.

All countries should be concerned, especially those in the northern hemisphere.

Despite all the talk about a NWO, the actual leader-puppets always pussy-foot when it comes to stepping on the sovereign toes of other countries.

People have cut TEPCO and the Japanese gov't. too much slack at this point.

Hell yes.

Reminds one of the BP criminal fiasco in the Gulf of Mexico. Government didn't want to step on BP's toes. Obama might as well have given Tony Hayward (BP CEO) a blowjob right on tv; he sucked up to BP that much.

Yes, the nuclear establishment (business and gov't. is too tightly knit there and people who don not follow the concensus view (which led to this catastrophe) are not listened to.

You are right. Outside forces may have to be brought to bear on the Japanese government to ebgin to take adequate steps to handle ths situation.

First, they thought they could save the reactors.

False.

Now they (TEPCO) wish to recover the fuel over the next ten years or so.

Thread: Ex-TepCo-Exec: No Concrete for Nuke Plant: Get Fuel First $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!

Madness.

Something must be done.

I think its banks again. TEPCO is deeply in debt and the banks don't want to lose their loans in a bankruptcy/dissolution. So TEPCO is being propped up by Jap taxpayers. To big to fail.

I think they already got paid for building US (and other) reactors, and they already got paid for the products of their breeder reactors, and they have to fulfill those contracts, theoretically.
More important than people, contracts are.
