Most if not all of those charts that are being shown are estimates, when the radiation monitors here in Alaska go up i will get worried, until then no...most of the heavy metals dissipate before they even get close to the U.S., that's why they call them "heavy"..they fall faster because they are heavier.
Everyone here survived Chernobyl, all the above ground nuke testing all over the world, its no different, unless our monitors start registering differently we should be fine.

I don't think this map represents ground level exposure......probably high altitude. Near as I can tell, the surface level colors in California are in the blues......medium low.... below the brown or tan color anyway. That isn't good, but its not as bad as you make it sound.

It has ben reported that Fuku has 10 times more fuel tham Chernobyl had.

But the nay sayers keep telling us... NO GRAPHITE (dust)...

For those of you saying the high level altitude radiation is not cause for concern... where do you think the rain comes from??? Those high level radiation readings are what will be falling on you in the next few days when it rains over your state..

This is something the government should be telling you about.. when to stay indoors.. do not go out in the rain etc..

Full mid levels of Cesium , Xenon, and Iodine.. particulate matter, in the cloud vapor from surface level to 5000m (15,000 feet) ..

These levels are now a full level higher than all the previous forecasts.

Japanese officials say 60,000 tons of radioactive water have accumulated in the basement of the stricken Fukushima plant. Workers must keep feeding water into the reactors to stop them overheating, which is leading to a build-up of radioactive fluid.

Japan has asked Russia to send a waste disposal facility to the crippled nuclear station. Almost 12,000 tons of low-tainted water are being released into the ocean DAILY to free storage space for more highly contaminated waste.

Authorities say this poses no threat to human health or the environment.
