Id like too say that 'it won't be bad too try undo our mistake by coming up with a solution' but as is the way off the world, our solutions normally have unforeseen or unthought off circumstances/repercussions and usually end up creating another possibly greater problem. So basically we are fucked either way. We need to stop being so self important and just let the chips fall where they may. Im not saying we should ignore the problem BUT we should we aware that WE HAVE TOTALLY FUCKED UP (Again) and we just have to sit back and watch what happens and be happy with whatever we do (attempt to correct the problem or ignore it). The world will be here long after we are, no matter how many fuck ups we continue to make!!! |

Three seasons of crops if harvested and buried elsewhere will remove about 1 percent of the active radiation from the soil. If done regularly over 300 - 400 years the radiation level would be low enough to grow other crops that might have radiation levels low enough for people to consume the produce. |

Strontium 90 is still Strontium 90 if it is in the soil or in the plant or in your body. If a pot plant picks up Strontium 90 or Cesium 137 and you smoke it you are inhaling that Strontium and Cesium into your lungs and irradiating your lungs. If deposited in your lungs, the particulate can be flushed up the trachea and then pass down the esophagus to the stomach where it will be digested and become part of the body waiting for its opportunity to cause cancer. In the past 100 years the cancer rate has increased six fold per ratio of the population. |

I would plant hemp instead of marijuana but better yet would be mushrooms because the wildlife will eat the mushrooms but not hemp or marijuana. Wild hogs near Chernobyl have been eating the mushrooms there since and are thriving. Radiation is much more harmful to humans because the complexity of our neurological systems makes us more susceptible to the hazards of it but not as much in less complex creatures like plants and animals. |
