My Dream - Future Catastrophe
With all the doom talk lately, I thought I would share a dream I had a few years back.

In the dream I was hovering above the Earth. Being from Louisiana, I started to zoom in on the Gulf of Mexico region. Suddenly, the land in that area started to vibrate from my vantage point. I wondered what could be causing this. Maybe an earthquake I thought. Then a section of what appeared to be Louisiana and Texas slid into the ocean. At least 1/3 to 1/2 of Louisiana/Texas was gone. I immediately woke up, terrified by what I had just witnessed. I can only imagine how big the tsunami created would be.

The other day I was googling around and found a map showing a suspected new tectonic plate, in the exact area where the event happened in my dream! [link to elainemeinelsupkis.typepad.com]

This new plate is thought to be responsible for the 5.2 & 6.0 earthquakes in the gulf back in '06, and also linked to the New Madrid region.

You can read more about it here - Gulf of Mexico Earthquakes May Warn of Coming Catastrophe: [link to www.stevedrinkard.com]
It is precisely because it is fashionable for Americans to know no science, even though they may be well educated otherwise, that they so easily fall prey to nonsense. They thus become part of the armies of the night, the purveyors of nitwittery, the retailers of intellectual junk food, the feeders on mental cardboard, for their ignorance keeps them from distinguishing nectar from sewage. — Isaac Asimov

I'm just 28 miles from the ocean! I'd be killed instantly. And I don't think San Antonio would be safe either, judging from what I saw. The Gulf would be like a big bath tub and that mega tsunami would slosh back and forth.
