Nope. It'll effectively be the same mechanical processes that occurred during the 9.0 out at Honshu Bay, only this time situated across the Japanese mainland and going through the cities of Tokyo, Urawa Maebasha & Niigata. The fault being a tri-lateral displacement convergence zone will rupture more or less from subsurface up to ground level or in laymans terms it'll be a significant shallow quake regardless of whereabouts it occurs across the Japanese mainland. However as mentioned before, given the lack of significant large aftershocks in the southern portions south of Tokyo Bay, expect this region to be hit by something over +8.0 in the not too distant future.

Do you think the whole Sun Flare/CME connection is viable???

I know a little on Geomagneticism, however speculating that ground ionisation is somehow influencing/being influenced by Solar output before a Earthquake or longevity aftershocks occur isn't really my field of speciality.
However the energy needed to create a Earthquake is surprisingly extremely light, a few milligrams of lateral displacement caused by crust movement is all it takes to be the trigger. Hypothetically one could put forward the notion that as Geomagnetic Ionisation from increased rock stress is inflammed by solar output, the exaggerated energy is enough to give that extra 'push' needed to cause the Earthquake.

Upgraded to 6.6

[link to quake.twiple.jp]
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1337777

Oh no... 6.5! I used to live in that area along the surfing beaches of Chiba (in eastern Honshu) and have many friends still there.

There was also a fairly large quake in Nagano way over on the western side of Honshu a few hours ago.

The quakes are now hitting areas other than Iwate, Fukushima, Miyagi. It is almost as if there is no relief and they are circling around Tokyo and closing in on the "Big Mikan," which is one of the greatest cities in the world.
