I use a bread maker. Doesn't take much time at all and the house smells awesome.

Whole wheat with Red River cereal in it, plus extra flax. It's all about the exact mixes.

Nice. I've been baking sweeter breads lately like pumpkin cranberry and lemon blueberry. Homemade is the best.

Is it better to use a bread maker than a standard oven?

I made a fig & anise loaf the other day. I am quite pleased with myself.

Also, I hope you soak the grains first...

Do you know the trick to a crispy crust?? Lightly mist the tops of the loaves every 10 minutes, until you are ready for it to brown.

excuse me, but I make the BEST homemade whole wheat bread in the world ... grind my own wheat and don't use no stinken bread machine ... you don't know the half of it OP ... kneeding the bread by hand puts YOUR energy into it ... and it makes all the difference in the world
