Suddenly smelling flowers...
Has anyone here ever experienced suddenly smelling flowers? I was sitting on my couch this morning and all of a sudden I could smell a strong flowery scent. I wondered where it was coming from and quickly realized it couldn't be coming from anything in my house. I realized I was just smelling it, kinda like how people say you smell burnt toast before a stroke. It kinda had me worried for a minute to be honest, then it faded after a few minutes.

I googled it and apparently its a phenomenon that happens to some people. Some claim its associated with things of a spiritual nature, or spirits themselves. When I told a guy I work with about it he said it had happened to him too, and he thinks it was his deceased mother visiting him.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Like "juicy fruit gum"??? I forget the chemical name, but it commonly called banana oil. Often it is used in "special" chemsprays. Why they do it, or what it means, I don't know.

you are having a divine visitation - roses are the divine mother Mary - repent of any sin that comes to mind, praise Jesus for saving you - you are being blessed

I haven't experienced it myself, but I have often heard that people will smell the scent of roses when a loved on visits from beyond. It is a lovely thought, if true.

This was also the first thing that popped in my mind as well. A lot of stuff oon this is out there. Could be a spirit trying to communicate to you.

Try googling "Smell of flowers and spirits" without the "" marks. You get a good result.

Re: Suddenly smelling flowers...
This used to happen to me quite a bit in the 90's.
It would happen when my Grandmother was there with me .She died when I was 15, in the 80's.
I'd always know when she was there, because the room would suddenly be filled with the scent of flowers.
Sometimes, after the flower scent, I'd see her...sometimes not...but I always knew she was there.

I kind of miss her visits..:(
Last time I saw her was in '05..was standing in the kitchen making coffee, when I smelled the flowers, and turned around to see her standing there, in a flowered dress.

Re: Suddenly smelling flowers...
This happened to me about 10 yrs after my grandma died. I was just doing normal housework and all of a sudden the whole house was filled with the scent of mock orange. I knew she was there with me, I just felt it. She had a mock orange bush at her house and I always loved the scent. I felt she was trying to tell me something...during that time my phone, would often ring and there would just be static on the other line...This was about 20 years ago.

Re: Suddenly smelling flowers...
You probably should go to the doctor and not take the advice of all these people who think it is about being psychic or something. Phantom smells could indicate a brain injury. Go to the ER if you are really experiencing smells that are not there.

This happened to me and my boyfriend while we were in the living room. I don't think we both have a brain tumor.. We could not find where it was from and it lasted few minutes.
