Needful Things by Stephen King | |

It was a couple of months ago and I prayed to God and his son to give me a sign of what to look out for in the coming end of days. Not a week later I found this book lying on my couch called Needful Things. Asked my mother what it was doing there and she replied to me saying she wasnt sure, but it was a book that she has owned for years and never read. I opened the book out of curiousity and found a picture that caught my attention. (I can get a picture of this later if needed, but i will cite as many things as I can from my location) Turns out that the picture is of this small town, Castle Rock, and above the city is a spiral (just like the ones that are supposed to predate the end of the world). Thought this was really strange, since i knew about all of the cave drawing of spirals and what they portray, so i decided to read the book. [link to en.wikipedia.org] Thats a link to the book for the summary, but i will give a quick one. The book is about a older man who comes into this town to open a shop full of "random" objects. The strange thing is that somehow he has items that people REALLY want i.e. there was an elvis fan and he happened to have an elvis picture. Well what this guy did was instead of selling these oddities at high prices, he would ask his customers to do him a "favor". These favors were all directed to attack someone in the town personally and make them (the victim) blame someone who was innocent for what happened. Ex. Boy dirtyed womans sheets that were hanging, and woman blamed her neighbor.. WHO SHE KILLED.. Ok.. so now let me get to the good stuff. The young boy who was in the book felt like this shop owner was evil and called him a MONSTER.. REALLY IMPORTANT. Turns out that the man WAS strange and had a connection to every major massacre in human history (he was immortal). Now you would think.. How is this important? Well my message was simple.. DONT BELIEVE OR FOLLOW THE MONSTER THEY ARE THE DEVIL. The book had a great ending and was a fantastic read. As it says in the good book, the devil is a deciever and i bet he is at this moment trying to get us to kill each other for SOMETHING SOMEONE ELSE SAID. These are some good examples of these monsters that are trying to mess with our minds.. I hope this was of use to someone, it gave me answers. Praise the lord Jesus Christ in all his glory! Deception will rule in the last days which is why Jesus responded to His disciples question about the last days with "Watch that you are not deceived!" I have claimed this promise for my family as these days fall upon us..."Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths." (Prov. 3:5-6) If we do this, then we can rest in His promise that we will be able to discern the WRONG paths and avoid them! If you put enough crap out there, someone is bound to buy into it. Most of his stories are just rehash from other less-known, but immensely more talented writers. Go read his book "on Writing" and you'll get a glimpse of someone who pickled his brain and can't even remember stealing his prose. |
