No, it is more energy efficient, this has never been debunked. If you run on four legs you use enough energy to support the running of 4 legs. When you run on 2 legs, you only have to give energy to 2 legs. Go run around on four legs. You will be tired out extremely fast.

You talk about running, while the thing is walking. Running is better with 4 legs while walking is beter with two. We run long distances but we are way to slow to catch animals that way. There is one tribe that does the exhaust or fatigue hunt which is very inefficient as the runner must be able to track his prey if he loses the track he wasted a tremendous amount of energy. With two feet one can be very silent and sneak up to throw the spear, so why would we run.

The kangaroo is the best long distance jumper, jumping needs even less energy than running.
