Threats
Why Should We Be Concerned about the Next Cold Climate Era?

This new era called a 'solar hibernation' or 'grand minimum' is caused by a repeating 206 year cycle of the Sun. These hibernations are accompanied by historic reductions in the energy output of the Sun. SSRC research shows the next solar hibernation will bring a long period of cold just as it has done before every time this cycle 'turns over' from its global warming phase to its global cooling phase. In addition, SSRC research backed by that of other researchers has shown a high degree of correlation between solar hibernations and the world's largest earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.

Mr. Casey, President of the SSRC was the first authority to notify the White House and other government agencies of this coming solar hibernation in early 2007. Numerous other scientists discovered the same cycles of the Sun. Their findings have been ignored or buried in science journals and thus essentially unknown to the public.During the first six months of 2011, NASA, The US Air Force, and the National Solar Observatory all confirmed the coming solar grand minimum. The next solar hibernation and according to the SSRC and many other scientists, the next climate change to decades of record cold has begun.

This cold era is expected to last for approximately 22 to 33 years with the coldest temperatures to be seen during the 2020's and 2030's either side of the bottom year of the cycle in 2031, and have temperatures on the order of that observed during the Dalton Minimum (1793-1830). We have already seen the early signs of the new climate with record cold winters globally for some of the past four years. During the winter of 2011-2012, while the central and eastern USA experienced a relatively warm winter, Europe and Asia had a difficult winter. We have entered a period of record temperature setting both hot and cold. This trend of highly variable extremes of both hot and cold within a general trend of globally declining temperatures is fully characteristic of the transition between climate changes.

That does not mean we can wait to prepare. Now that the hibernation has begun, it is possible for these unusual variations in temperatures to strike with little warning. We should not be surprised to see occasional severe crop damage and recurring food shortages in many nations at any time. Comparisons to the Dalton Minimum show that there is a high probability of social, economic and political turmoil worldwide as a result of massive crop losses from the coming cold weather. The SSRC believes this damage to the world's agricultural systems will be sufficient to create conditions that could lead to the world's worst subsistence crisis in recorded history. This same food crisis occurred during the last hibernation, though with significantly fewer people to feed. Historian John D. Post called that time"...the last great subsistence crisis."

Additionally, SSRC research and that of other respected researchers shows that geophysical upheavals like the largest earthquakes and volcanic eruptions are likely to occur during these solar events. As before with the Mt. Tambora eruption in 1815 that took place during the last solar hibernation, large volcanic eruptions may greatly add to the cooling of the Earth on top of that created by the reduction in the Sun's output. Further, the largest recorded earthquakes in US history took place in the middle of the last hibernation, the New Madrid quakes of 1811-1812. The SSRC Research Report 1-2010, (See The RC Theory page) similar to that of other researchers, established a strong link between solar hibernations and these largest geophysical disturbances. Given the likelihood of major quakes and volcanic eruptions here in the US, the SSRC immediately notified US authorities and major news outlets after release of the report.

The SSRC predicts the first possible time frame for an instance of large scale crop damage is during the record drop in global temperatures predicted by the SSRC to take place between June 2010 and November-December 2012. (See press release 2-2010). Earthquakes and volcanic eruptions of historical scale can happen at any time now that the next solar hibernation has begun.

This is the nature of the threats that the SSRC sees during the new climate era that has just begun. The obvious message here is that we need to prepare as best we can. The SSRC will do all it can to spread the word about this new climate period and its ill-effects. We will continue to pursue the SSRC Mission of urging the government and our fellow citizens to prepare for this new climate era.

RC Theory
The 'Theory of Relational Cycles of Solar Activity' or 'Relational Cycle Theory' or simply the ‘RC Theory’ was developed during the spring of 2007. It was the culmination of independent research by John L. Casey, President of the Space and Science Research Corporation. Following his independent research, he performed an extensive review of other published scientific literature to corroborate his findings and evaluate the accuracy of his work. As a result, it was found that most if not all of the elements of the Theory were also established by other researchers, providing significant validation for the Theory and its importance as a tool for prediction of future climate changes.

*** The Theory of Relational Cycles of Solar Activity ****
(The RC Theory)

(1) There exists a family of solar activity cycles that has a profound and direct influence on the Earth’s climate.
(2) These cycles are called ‘relational cycles’ since their effects can be experienced or ‘related’ to during one or two human lifetimes.
(3) There is a “Centennial Cycle” of 90-100 years duration, which manifests itself with solar activity minimums and associated low temperatures with episodes lasting a few years to 1-2 decades.
(4) There is a “Bi-Centennial Cycle” of about 206 years that is the most powerful of the relational cycles and has significant effects on the climate of the Earth lasting
many decades resulting in the most extreme variations in solar activity and temperatures.
(5) These cycles are correlated strongly to all past major temperature lows.
(6) There is remarkable regularity and hence the redictability of these oscillations, such that the theory may be a powerful tool in forecasting of major temperature and climatic cycles on Earth, many decades in advance.
(7) There may be other relational cycles of shorter duration accounting for lesser solar climatic events which may be revealed in subsequent research.

Have been expecting this was researching quake info months prior to Denali Fault 2002 found a lot of similarities there will be more if right larger. Sure this explains my insomnia bout' last 3 nights too. Need to check Yellowstone seizmo's for uptick think that geyser going off is a signal too.

Re: F.O.G.
Now even Janet's talking about it and she's getting out scared
The outgoing Homeland Security Secretary has a warning for her successor: A massive and “serious” cyber attack on the U.S. homeland is coming, and a natural disaster — the likes of which the nation has never seen — is also likely on its way.
So prepare, and bring “a large bottle of Advil,” Janet Napolitano told her yet-to-be-named replacement in a farewell address Tuesday morning.
“Many things still need tending, and my successor will most certainly have a full plate on his or her hands,” said Napolitano, who leaves her post next week after more than four years at the helm of the Department of Homeland Security.
At the end of her address Tuesday, Napolitano offered an “Open Letter to My Successor.”
Among her pieces of advice: “You will need to forge strong relationships with all of our partners, including Congress, to make sure DHS has the resources it needs to meet our responsibilities to the American people.
You also will have to prepare for the increasing likelihood of more weather-related events of a more severe nature as a result of climate change, and continue to build the capacity to respond to potential disasters in far-flung regions of the country occurring at the same time.
“You will need a large bottle of Advil,” Napolitano joked.
Still, she said, running DHS is “one of the most rewarding jobs there is.”
“What you do here matters to the lives of people all across our great nation, and your decisions affect them in direct, tangible ways,” she said. “You make sure their families are safe from terrorist threats, that their local first responders have equipment and training and funding, and that when disaster strikes, people who have lost everything are given food, shelter and hope.”

Re: F.O.G.
For some reason I started looking at all of this again the other night went back several months before this event found EQ activity like we've been seeing first in Aleutian trench/Kodiak area then Cape Yakutat 'the elbow' and Queen Charlotte Island
The Denali fault is an active intracontinental right-lateral strike-slip fault that accommodates a fraction of the oblique collision of the Yakutat block into the southern
Alaska margin. It is the northern boundary of a region being extruded to the west. The Totschunda fault splays off
the Denali fault and strikes 14° more to the southeast. The Totschunda fault is parallel to and aligned with the plate-bounding Queen Charlotte–Fairweather transform fault system
further south, and it may be part of a developing connection between the Fairweather and western Denali faults. The Alaska Range is adjacent to the Denali fault, and the high topography of the range may be related to thrust faults that merge into the Denali fault at depth.

That quake we just had is almost where the first 2002 quake hit. It's on the Susitna Glacier fault which converges with the Denali-Totschunda fault junction.
The Denali fault earthquake sequence began with the moment magnitude 6.7 Nenana Mountain earthquake on 23 October 2002. This event was followed by numerous aftershocks that ran a 45-km-long zone along the Denali fault. The aftershock zone stopped 10 km west of the 7.9 Denali-Totshunda Fault Earthquake on Nov 03, 2002 epicenter. The findings showed right-lateral strike-slip, consistent with rupture on the Denali fault.
The thing that really caught my attention is the areas effected by the S-waves and the areas that seismic activity was triggered are places we have seen activity in the last few weeks The Denali fault event triggered local earthquake activity at distances as far as 3660 km. Of seven documented instances of triggered seismicity, six are located in volcanic or geothermal activity areas: (1) the Katmai volcanic field in Alaska, (2) Mount Rainier in central Washington (3) Yellowstone caldera in Wyoming, (4) the Geysers geothermal field in northern California, (5) Long Valley caldera in east-central California, and (6) the Coso geothermal field in southeastern California. The other site is along the Wasatch fault zone, central Utah. The triggered seismicity developed rapid sequences of small local mag earthquakes ranging from several minutes in the case of Mount Rainier to days in the case of Yellowstone.
Yellowstone caldera, nearly in line with the rupture propagation direction, produced the most active response swarms continued for at least 10 days. The earthquakes covered the entire volcanic field and were accompanied by unusual variations in geothermal activity. Katmai is the only one of the many active Alaskan volcanoes that showed triggered seismicity. Veniaminof and Wrangell volcanoes showed decreases in seismicity beginning several days afterwards.
[link to www.aeic.alaska.edu]
[link to www.aeic.alaska.edu]

The 2002 M7.9 Denali Fault earthquake in Alaska caused a 2-foot water-level rise in a well in Wisconsin, more than a thousand miles from the epicenter.
The other type of ground-water response is a water-level oscillation, which occurs more often, but is less commonly recorded. In the few cases where oscillations have been recorded, they resemble long-period seismograms, known as hydroseismograms. A well in Grants Pass, Oregon, is instrumented to record water levels at 1-second intervals, and the record from the Denali Fault earthquake shows peak-to-peak seismic oscillations of more than 4 feet and a permanent offset of 0.4 feet
After the Denali Fault earthquake, many eyewitnesses throughout the contiguous United States reported water “sloshing” back and forth in lakes, bayous, ponds, and pools. Seiches lasted as long as half an hour, resulting in broken moorings in Lake Pontchartrain, Louisiana(Seth Moran, U.S. Geological Survey, written commun., 2002)- boats reportedly sank in Assumption Parrish, Bayou Corne peopleofthekeys.com.

Beats me what pulled me back to all of this but now looking at it wondering... Right now we do not have LISS available in the event of a large quake, we are seeing increased activity in the above areas, if Alaska had another big quake what would that do to the current Bayou Corne sinkhole situation? Would Seiches cause the whole salt dome to collapse? IDK...something to ponder...just putting it out there.

Biological Hazard in USA on Wednesday, 28 August, 2013 at 03:23 (03:23 AM) UTC.
Description
The Ohio Department of Agriculture is testing samples taken from sick dogs treated at a Stark County animal clinic. Dr. Melanie Butera from the Elm Ridge Animal Hospital on Portage NW has treated three, possibly four dogs that may have been infected with a mysterious, undiagnosed disease. One dog died after Dr. Butera attempted to treat the animal. "I'm a tiny little practice, so for me to see possibly four cases in a short period of time really does have me worried," said Butera. After a similar outbreak of an unknown infection killed three dogs in Cincinnati a few weeks ago, the Ohio Department of Agriculture urged all pet owners to watch their dogs. In a statement, a spokesperson said: "Affected dogs suffered from severe bloody diarrhea and vomiting. Owners should observe their dogs and contact a veterinarian immediately if they show similar symptoms." "These dogs are sicker than sick; they're not just a little bit sick," said Dr. Butera. "They are just profoundly weak. I mean, they come in not even lifting their heads up off the floor or the table." Denielle Kidder has a 10-year-old mixed breed who battled back from a horrible infection a few weeks ago. The dog, Lexi, continues to undergo bandage changes after a small wound spread along her backside. "The small spot had grown and I assumed it had gotten infected and then the fur started falling off, so I called the vet and made an appointment," said Denielle. State officials are trying to determine if the cases are all connected and if they are, what is causing the health scare. They're now hoping samples taken from Dr. Butera's patients and sent to a lab will provide more information.

Wow!
Environment Pollution in USA on Wednesday, 28 August, 2013 at 03:16 (03:16 AM) UTC.
Description
St. Lucie County commissioners give the go ahead to draft a state of emergency. All commissioners unanimously approved the move. It will be finalized and voted on next week, which will then open up funding for environmental and economic losses. The news comes the same day we've learned that nearly 100 percent of the 23 acres of state funded oyster beds are dead. 100 percent of the St. Lucie River in Stuart and Port St. Lucie is toxic. Releases from Lake Okeechobee are estimated to continue through 2014. All this is taking a toll on the tourism and boating industry, the environment, and even people's health. Bacteria levels are so high, you can't touch the water or risk an infection. Toxic algae so serious, it can cause liver damage. Tourism numbers on the west coast of Florida are just in, show 70 percent of the tourism industry is seeing a great economic hit. Fifty percent of hotel guests say they won't return because of the dirty water. Treasure Coast officials have not yet surveyed businesses to date, but the numbers won't be good. "The important thing is let's declare it a State of Emergency," said Mark Perry, Executive Director at Florida Oceanographic Society. "I mean this is not only an emergency environmentally, but economically for the people in the area for their livelihoods and health-wise. So there should be a state team that comes here from Department of Environmental Protection and the Governor's office, and everyone should be on this." A state Senate panel last week focused on possible solutions for now, like using cattle ranches and conservation lands to hold water, some of it is land currently flooded by Big Sugar.

This is the third story I've posted about this phenomenon in the last 3 weeks. What's up with that?

Strange Lights are not UFO's Just Atmospheric Red Sprites
Is it a bird, is it a plane, is it a UFO? Strange lights in the sky are being closely watched by atmospheric scientists.

Dubbed red sprites by researchers, these dancing fairies-of-the-clouds are sometimes glimpsed as blood-red bursts of light in the shape of jellyfish.

At other times, they appear as trumpet-shaped blue emissions, called blue jets. Like the most elusive of nymphs, however, red sprites and blue jets come out on only one occasion: during severe thunderstorms.

Although sporadically reported for years by airline pilots, only in the past decade or two has there been enough evidence to convince atmospheric scientists to investigate the phenomenon.

Biohazard name: Mass. Die-off (dolphins)

Scientists are working to unravel why there has been a surge in the number of beached dolphins found along the eastern coast of the U.S.. A total of 44 bottlenose dolphins were found in July, washed up along the southern part of Chesapeake Bay in Virginia - around eight times as many as normal, according to the Virginia Aquarium Stranding Response Team. Researchers are struggling to work out the cause of the deaths, but suspect a virus is to blame, as a similarly morbid bout of dolphin deaths occurred in 1987 and were the result of a measles-like disease. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has asked stranding centres situated along the coastline to record the number of dead dolphins found in a bid to find a pattern in the spikes. Susan Barco, research coordinator for the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Centre, told The Virginian-Pilot : 'We've had a steady number coming in at the beginning of the summer, and starting last week, the numbers spiked...We're just trying to keep our head above water.' The states of Delaware and Maryland has also seen a rise in dolphin deaths and according to a report in The Press of Atlantic City, around 10 dead dolphins were found in a month - double that than usually recorded. Scientists in New Jersey have reportedly said necropsy results have indicated pneumonia might be to blame, but a spokesman for NOAA's National Marine Fisheries Service admitted no-one knows what is causing the mysterious dolphin deaths but data is being collected.
