could be an eventful couple days as the sun is now firing more east, we'll see if it becomes earthfacing energy as I think our catalyst needs another week or two ,to put us in the line of fire. We've got a decent CH approaching and the earth is shaking out 5 mags all over. The 5.9 in Japan has me watching that area closely.

Energy flow is currently over North American west coast......... and i'm still having on going computer issues.

Agree on all points. Watching the quakes pulsing up in mag. Seems it wasn't that long ago they were pulsing 4's.
Whatever the catalyst is has to be of noteable size to have such an affect on our sun.
Wish I knew whether it is drawing energy from the sun or smashing energy into the sun.

then it has to be huge. At least we can see reactions now as it is moving around into view. My mind keeps asking what would draw energy from a nuclear reaction...if we looked at this in simpler terms...if a power plant had something drawing power, what would we look for or at as the cause & affect?
We know the grid can cause power fluctuations from usage. we have to think outside of atmosphere.

Nemesis (hypothetical star)has been in the back of my mind.
I keep thinking of hurricanes...galaxies look like hurricanes floating in the sea of the universe. The sun is the eye of the storm of our solar system. Galactic plane center of galaxy storm. Lots of components that affect a hurricane...same as a galaxy. A front of dry air or pressure will affect the hurricane and its strength.
We know bow shock is now bow wave as the galaxy has slowed down. So the weather front of the ribbon/oort cloud has affected our galaxy, which in turn has affected our solar system.

...our solar system is a hurricane in space. We have been moving along in a sea of universal water for eons. We come upon a land mass. The land mass creates drag because we are skirting the shore which slows us down. This would be the oort cloud/ribbon.
Because we were not skirting the shore before, the eye (sun) energy was not being affected.
Now we slow down, the slower the storm the more damage created and the weaker the storm becomes, until it moves out into open water again.
So....we have watched the far side action, we know we are working our way around the oort cloud. Once our (earth)rotates around to the shore side, we could experience similar solar action. Depending on the land mass (oort cloud density). Once we have circled past, then hypothetically we would have a window of opportunity until we circle back in again.

How long have we been watching the flares on the back side of the sun? That should tell us an approximate window of solar activity.
And...how many times will we circle through the oort cloud?
Just a thought....anybody?
