I was more interested in the Accretinary Belt in regards to how it is connected to the NA Craton and extends the entire way to Central America and the Carribean Islands. ELQ and others have been talking about the Craton for quite a while, so I have been watching this, but didn't connect the SA and Carribean Quakes to the Craton before. I guess i don't understand what your asking me lol The Accretionary Belt is basically just a boundary made up of accretionary wedges(sentiment from plate collisions).... its not a fault line per say... Please someone correct me if i'm wrong or if i need to be smacked awake lol Hope I didn't confuse Gabe. The map states that the belt welded to the Craton over the 600 million years since the last major N.A. Craton activity. So I am wondering if movement within the Craton also means movement along this belt? As you can tell, I'm the amateur here...LOL. |

You forgot Japan sinking into the ocean when the tsunami from the San Andraes blows. And no, that wasn't meant to be funny, scary actually. all this i believe to be natural cycles..... has happened before and will happen again..... but instead of hardy cavemen (and women) we are a softened evolved species who won't be able to handle these kind of earth changes very well. We are no where close to the technology to be able to stop these changes.... and when we try (and we do) we have a tendency to make things worse..... [chuckle] So true, Gabe. Majority have no idea. |
