Well this basically covers most of what we've been documenting. Everyone is talking about their peace and contentment and this was me but not tonight. Have been watching Christmas movies - you know the goofy feel good ones with poor acting but just make you feel good? A few hours ago, there was a nagging need to check the EQ's and solar activity - nothing. Fought the need to check again until a few ago where I just had to check, still nothing yet I just have to keep checking.

Either I have gone batty or....

Peace and love to all - what a blessing you all are, a place to share even when I feel nutty myself, I know I won't be judged here and that is a nice home away from home!!

December 3, 2012 - The Geminid meteor shower peaks on Dec. 13th and 14th when Earth runs through a stream of debris from a strange object that some astronomers are calling a "rock comet.
The 2012 Geminid meteor shower peaks on the night of Dec. 13-14, The Geminids are a unique meteor shower in that their identified parent body is not a comet, but what seems to be an asteroid! Of the meteor showers with known parent bodies studied by meteor scientists, the Geminids are the only shower to have an asteroidal parent body; all others have a cometary origin.

3200 Phaethon measures 5.10 km in diameter which increases the 'unique' factor; considering the amount of debris we see, we would expect Phaethon to be a much larger body!

Morning all. I wanted to say thanks for all the kind words. I have been lurking. I will be around and will log in from time to time also. Had a good weekend. My cub scout troop built a parade float for a Christmas Parade and ours was by far the best. The theme was Christmas in Paradise. We had it all Beach themed with a ton of lights and we blasted Christmas reggae. The kids had such a great time too. It's things like that that make it all worth while.

Welcome and I gave you your first green FOG hug

A couple of other sites I visit have been talking about their current weather or lack thereof for my part of the world. Yesterday it was 68 degrees at DIA which is the official temp, though it was 70 at my house. It is suppose to be in the low 40's, snowy and cold outside! My lawn is green - though I am not sure why it is since we haven't had any moisture since the first part of October and we are on full water restrictions for any watering except trees and shrubs once a month.
