What if...the source that seemed to be "pulling" all the solar flares from the backside is now closer and pulling more energy than just the flares?

Hmmmm...just thinking out loud.

Sorry have not heard anything about sulfur and Timaru. The weather here is so unsettled like this morning, clear sky sunny and looked to be agreat summer day, but 30 minutes later very cold raining and strong winds. Makes me think we will not get summer this year.

Wonder how long these new spots will last before they die the slow death just like all the other ones that have been earth facing?

On a weather note, it will be almost 70 tomorrow. This coming weekend will be the change we here have been hoping for. Highs in the 20's and yes SNOW. I could do without the high of only 24 but to even see a chance of snow in the forecast is a blessing in this drought stricken state.

Re: F.O.G.
Geologists find East Coast quakes travel farther
Data from the 2011 earthquake centered in Virginia shows East Coast tremors can travel much farther and cause damage over larger areas than previously thought, the U.S. Geological Survey said Tuesday. Scientists also found the quake that caused more than $200 million in damage triggered landslides at distances four times farther and over an area 20 times larger than research from previous quakes has shown. Additionally, the landslides from the 2011 tremor occurred in an area of about 12,895 square-miles. Geologic structure and rock properties on the East Coast allow seismic waves to travel farther without weakening compared with the West Coast, Harp said.
