The Geminid Meteor Shower 2012 Peak

Tips for watching from Earthsky.org:

The best viewing of the Geminids will probably be from about 1 a.m. to 3 a.m. on Dec. 14.

What to bring: You can comfortably watch meteors from many places, assuming you have a dark sky: your back yard or deck, the hood of your car, the side of a road. Consider a blanket or reclining lawn chair, a thermos with a hot drink, binoculars for gazing along the pathway of the Milky Way. Be sure to dress warmly enough.

hey, something i am curious about..

i dont get round to following much actual nz news, so i dont know how widespread either of these events were here..

firstly, for about 3 days last week , here in the bay, we had a weird thick fog/low cloud phenomena going on

but it seemed unlike any cloud/fog i have ever experienced before

it gave me an uneasy (haarp) type feeling, and i wondered if had anything to do with the quake or to the extreme weather/torado that caused deaths in auckland?)

secondly, we had a huge power cut here that affected the whole wider bay area, and one person was told that there was a fire at a substation around here

i noticed at the same time there were mentions on glp about strange fogs and power station problems happening in the USA

i also wondered if it had anything to do with the sun's crazy activity??

shad, do you have any knowledge, ideas about this??

i was getting real worried for a while there, folk here are so kind and supportive, and i also wish i could give out bucketfuls of green


regarding strange fogs, see my post above to agapao, we had a strange fog in my area for a few days last week..

I saw that about the fog, it reminded me of that article which I come across earlier today.

And yes, we do have an AMAZING family here. I love our F.O.G!

Our sun is entering unchareted waters with this energy,VERY interesting and I believe this is a possitive occurance. Instead of a massive object causing catastrophe we may have an ever present energy source for evolvement, we can only hope our system handles this influence kindly
