Re: F.O.G.

Fishermen, acting on gut, find crash site, 2 girls

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — As their mother lay dead in the middle of the night, a 4-year-old Oregon girl dragged her seriously injured younger sister from a crashed car and the two huddled under a blanket — and waited.

With the mangled car stuck deep in the woods, and no skid marks on the highway, the crash site was nearly impossible to detect.

In fact, authorities estimate the sisters were alone in the frigid woods for several hours early Wednesday as many motorists passed it by.

The children finally got help after two commercial fishermen spotted what appeared from a distance to be a basketball-sized gash in an alder tree along State Highway 401 between Astoria, Ore., and Naselle, Wash. Kraai McClure and Scott Beutler travel the two-lane road frequently, and had a gut feeling something was wrong

"I don't know exactly what told us to turn around, but I'm just really thankful we did," McClure said Thursday.

The men spotted the wrecked car a few hundred feet from the road. Nearby were the two young girls, scared and confused. "They could say their names but were totally in shock," McClure said.

The Washington State Patrol said the girls' mother, 26-year-old Jessica Rath of Astoria, probably was asleep when she veered off the road and struck the tree shortly after midnight. She died at the scene.

McClure and Beutler discovered the crash site around 8:30 a.m.
Winger described the fishermen as heroes for acting on their hunch. McClure, however, gave the credit to Aryanna for helping Lylah out of the car and keeping her warm.

"She saved her sister," McClure said. "She was sharp enough. I don't know how she did it or anything else, but something was watching over those little girls."

"It was amazing that the little 4-year-old — I have a little 4-year-old, too, she's almost 5 — was able to get her little sister out and do that," he added. "It just blows my mind that she could do that in that situation. I don't know if she waited until morning, when they could see, but, you know, it just makes me want to cry."

Threat of space objects demands international coordination, UN team says

Snip:
20 February 2013 – In the wake of a meteor impact in Russia that shattered windows over a wide area, injuring hundreds of people and terrifying thousands, a United Nations team today called for international cooperation to face the threat of near space objects.

“If the proposed coordination mechanism was in place, then at minimum it would have allowed for more observation and better understanding and education of the population on what to expect rather than having a surprise effect with people not knowing what was happening,” Sergio Camacho, Chairman of the Action Team on Near-Earth Objects of the UN Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), said at a press conference in Vienna.

Okay, I am on one of those research tangents that is solar related, mostly, sorta. Started to post this over on the solar thread but was worried it might be slightly off topic so posting here!

The real power behind climatic change has always been the Earth's interactions with the Sun and our fellow planets. On the most obvious level our regular yearly orbit around the Sun coupled with the inclination of our axis gives us our regular cycle of opposite seasons in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. But because of the gravitational influences of the other planets the Earth's orbit isn't always circular - at times our orbit becomes more of an ellipse which takes us farther away from the sun.

A further complication is the influence of the planets on the rotation and orbit of the Sun itself. When the gas giants Jupiter and Saturn end up in the same quadrant, their combined gravity can cause a wobble in the Sun's orbit and influence its rotational speed. Perhaps most importantly, the confluence of the gas giants in the same quadrant can affect the Sun's magnetic field. All of these factors influence the Sun's effects on the Earth.

The interactions between the Sun and planets are complex since each celestial body has a different orbital period and rotational speed. However, since the movements of each celestial body are relatively consistent, those sets of interactions that influence the Earth appear to us as regular cycles with predictable periodicity. The geological record indicates that these cycles have been consistent for at least the last three million years. The history of the Earth locked up in the Greenland and Antarctica ice sheets show that ice ages in particular have consistently followed the same regular pattern for at least the last 250,000 years.

you're on it, what we forget is the response to other anomalous activities that aren't ELECTRIC, actually catalyst of electromagnetism, gas release convenes with shear pressure, which creates poiezoelecric response. everything is an inert relation. Like layers of the sun revealing currents and density reactions, our earth is exact in this picture, we have density differentials and chemical variances, but everything is vastly similar. Why , we mimic the parent as best we can given the parameters

Thanks hf

Sometimes we all just need to know we are on the right track when we are researching, or we veer off into na-na land never to be seen again....

That the giant gas planets effect us like the article stated was actually the first I had read about it which of course sent my straight line searching off into about 5 different paths.

A post I read recently seems to be making more and more sense to me: if the gooberment says it, then do the opposite. So if Global Warming is wrong (most of us agree it is) then it is Global Cooling we need to worry about. Makes perfect sense to me.

Saw this story reminds me of 'The Notebook'

N.Y. man who died on way to late wife's memorial buried beside her
An upstate New York man who died on the way to his late wife's wake was buried in a plot beside her on Wednesday, after a dual funeral service that capped a 66-year marriage, their daughter said on Thursday.

Norman Hendrickson, 94, a retired assistant postmaster in an Albany suburb, stopped breathing in the limousine on the way to a wake on Saturday for his late wife Gwen, who died earlier this month after suffering for years from Parkinson's Disease, daughter Norma said.

Funeral home staffers laid Hendrickson in a casket and placed him beside an urn containing his wife's remains in a viewing room, while daughter Merrilyne posted a light-hearted sign for arriving mourners:

"Surprise - it's a Double-Header - Norman and Gwen Hendrickson - February 16, 2013."

Norma Hendrickson said her parents were buried side by side in the same plot on Wednesday, along with some of the ashes of their late son, who died in 2008, and a watercolor painting her sister Merrilyne had made for them.

Funeral director Elizabeth Nichols-Ross, a family friend, said the couple laughed a lot and would have enjoyed the irony of the situation - especially Norman, who loved jokes.

"I don't blush easily, but he told ones that made you blush," she said.

She joked with the family that their father, who was known to be thrifty, would have loved to save the costs of a second funeral, so she didn't charge the family for two services.

Mourners took the surprise in stride, Nichols-Ross said.

"Oh, that doesn't surprise me," she quoted one mourner as saying. "He wanted to be with Gwen.'"

Governor Inslee: Six Hanford tanks are leaking

Six underground radioactive waste tanks at the nation's most contaminated nuclear site are leaking, Gov. Jay Inslee said Friday.

Inslee made the announcement after meeting with federal officials in Washington, D.C. Last week it was revealed that one of the 177 tanks at south-central Washington's Hanford Nuclear Reservation was leaking liquids. Inslee called the latest news "disturbing."

The tanks, which already are long past their intended 20-year life span, hold millions of gallons of a highly radioactive stew left from decades of plutonium production for nuclear weapons.

The U.S. Department of Energy said earlier that liquid levels were decreasing in one of the tanks at the site. Monitoring wells near the tank have not detected higher radiation levels.

While I was down in TX...I spent a couple of evenings a week chatting with the folks. Talk usually centers around politics....or "the way things used to be". I usually learn a lot about a huge variety of topics. I was introduced to a couple of remedies I thought I would not only share, but add to the first aid kit. Bag Balm and Drawing Salve. Both were used widely, as home remedies....and now are primarily used on the farm. A couple others to add some depth to the kit...activated charcoal and sweet oil.

We did indeed get an ice storm. I am glad to report that Mother Nature spared me again. I must live in a little pocket--that got overlooked. I went out to the post office and library today--less than a mile from my place....and drove into a winter wonderland....so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes.

Re: F.O.G.
hi
Hi All!

It's so wonderful to hear something that seems to so totally capture the life of a couple. It's not often we remember that the end is often a celebration....of a life well lived and the Bon Voyage of a new journey. Kudos to their kids who gave them a marvelous send off!!

Re: F.O.G.
Hey guys and gals, this thread could use some of you geo-tards and brilliant minds for comment.
Thread: my theory on all the bubbling going on recently in sinkhole, lake and sea around LA & gulf of mexico (Page 2)

I copied over an interesting post from it, I'd like to hear thoughts on this if you guys have any..... THANKS !

Oh Lord, well I'll give it shot, but it's like trying to communicate with people on GLP, Morans ya know, so any how because I've been researching this for about the last decade, well the following is vastly simplified, but for your idea of methane rising up, which is all good and fine, but why now? The Earth just ate something that gives it gas? Hmm...well sort of.

Ok, so this thing called the Sun, which isn't a hydrogen bomb sailing through space as you have been told: No, it's something else, something which no one really knows. Well it is normally ploughing along with a bunch of crap in tow, like the earth, and in the wake of the Sun are the condensed energies which it puts out. Most of these are not well understood despite what they like to claim.

Well, the center of the galaxy resembles a bar magnet, and it too produces energies, which we can visualize much like those which surround a bar magnet. We don't really know what is so attractive about this, but no matter because the Sun likes it, and the Earth and the rest of our solar system like the Sun, and so we all go along behind the Sun in these great big spiral orbits.

So you see our solar system isn't a flat plate sitting in space. No, it's this dynamic collection of bodies blasting around the center of the Milkyway Galaxy about once every 320 million years or so.

Well any ways, see when the Sun get to about 40 degrees off the tip of the Galactic cores main center line, that bar magnet thingy I was using as an example, well just like the field of the bar magnet the energies from the Galactic Core begin to grow weaker, and weaker, and so the Sun decides to take a nap and we enter a pretty cool period. Ok, well probably another Ice Age, but that's a ways off and you will be dead from old age long before that happens. However, most likely we are seeing the growing effects of the decreasing protective shielding from the Sun and which also powers, or so it seems, our own planets core. After all, only a school child would think the core of the planet could remain molten all by itself for 4 billion years without any reason. So something keeps it molten: Right?

Well, the deal is that if you look at the field of a bar magnet, again as an example, you will see that just before the end of the field the magnetic field lines come squeezed together and focused back toward the tip of that bar magnet. So the idea here is that Global Warming was real, but not because of humans, no it was because the condensed energies returning to Galactic core were supercharging the core of the planet earth, raising the core pressures and heating the ocean floors.

Ok, so these energies which we know so little about, well they keep the planet normal for the vast majority of the time, but lucky you, you choose to live in a time when the
the majority of these energies are to be converted in to matter at the core of the planet, which preceeds an ice age and causes all that volcanic activity. Now as you know, these so called scientists have shilled about green house gases causing global warming, and then they lie and say this will cause the next ice age, when in fact it will be the rather simple fact that our Sun and all it's followers will be in this area above the tip of that bar magnet where the energies from the galactic core are very sparse. Like no fuel for the sun means no protective shielding for the planet earth, or I mean a good deal less, and this will go on for quite some time. Like maybe 20 thousand years or so. Least ways until we all get to the other side of the bar magnet, which is again going to be about 40 degrees off the tip on the other side, so it's going to be more than a three hour tour.

Hope this helps, remember Joe vers the Volcano? You really do want the best luggage available.
