I came straight here did not search if anyone else had posted it. On the news they say no one is still able to get underground to find out what the cause is. I will look for the news station online. We were getting some carbon monoxide readings in there so we brought in a ventilator truck to clear out the smoke," Lt. Col. Nally said. Several downtown employees couldn't clock in because of the buckled pavement. "It was right in front of Republic Plaza so I knew I would not be going to work today," Peggy Perry said. Bryan Scott watched as firefighters kept their distance from the flames. "To see that, and see the roadway around it broken up - it was a pretty powerful explosion," Scott said. No injuries were reported. There was no immediate word on the cause of the fire. AKO, your post the other day about Monsanto reminded me of something I've been wondering about for a long time. Maybe Shad might know, too, or at least y'all might have a good guess. I know the seed companies have "short season" seeds for areas like Alaska, because of the short growing season. Our season for some veggies are split because of the high heat in the summer. Do you guys think some of the seeds for shorter seasons might work here, if planted early enough? I hope I'm explaining this properly. Our mid-summer is murder on tomato plants. They end up not producing until almost fall and then it's sometimes too late. |
