That's CRAZY!!! We weren't even that hot today. I think we were 96. We've had a few 100 and almost 100 days, but not very many yet. We've stayed in the low and mid 90's, for the most part. But...we've had drought for 3 years and now we have humidity! It's killing me! Not complaining, though. We grateful for the rain, even if it's messing up the crops. I hope you have ac, but I have a feeling you don't.

* FLOOD ADVISORY FOR MELTING SNOW IN...
MATANUSKA VALLEY
MATANUSKA RIVER NEAR SUTTON AND NEAR MAUD ROAD (BUTTE AREA)

* UNTIL 400 PM AKDT THURSDAY JUNE 20

* HIGH TEMPERATURES OVER THE PAST SEVERAL DAYS HAVE BROUGHT THE

AND FLOODING LAST YEAR. LEVELS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE TO RISE
THROUGH MIDWEEK BEFORE TEMPERATURES MODERATE AND LEVELS START TO
FALL.

EXPECTED IMPACTS:
A CHANNEL SHIFT IN THE MATANUSKA RIVER HAS RESULTED IN FLOODING AND

Re: F.O.G.
Some of the warmest weather of the year arrived in Alaska over the weekend and will continue through the first part of the week. The heat is also raising the risk of wildfires. Folks heading to The Last Frontier should be prepared for hot weather and possibly smoky conditions. Heat challenged records in Fairbanks and Anchorage, Alaska's two most populated cities, over the weekend. The high in Fairbanks on Sunday reached 88 degrees, falling just a degree shy of their daily record. The temperature reached 91 degrees at Talkeetna, which tied the highest temperature ever recorded for the site. Temperatures are forecast to continue to challenge, and possibly break, records Monday and Tuesday across parts of interior Alaska. Temperatures will climb into the upper 80s and lower 90s through Wednesday with the highest temperatures being focused in southwestern Alaska. Meanwhile, cold ocean waters will limit temperatures along the coast to the mid-50s.

In addition to the heat, the weather pattern is also raising the risk of wildfires across the state. According to the Alaska Interagency Coordination Center, there are currently 26 active wildfires across the state. With the weather pattern not forecast to move much over the next few days, the wildfire threat will remain elevated. These record-challenging temperatures are due to a northward bulge in winds high in the atmosphere that developed over central Alaska over the past weekend. The strong upper-level winds are known as the jet stream. This particular jet stream pattern will hold its ground through the first part of the week, allowing the above-normal temperatures to continue. Temperatures will start to ease a bit during the second half of the week as the jet stream shifts southward. This warm air will start to make up for the chilly spring that Alaska has had this year. April was a particularly cold month, especially for the city of Fairbanks. In April, there was only one day where the city had temperatures that were above normal. When all was said and done, the month of April averaged 14 degrees below normal in Fairbanks.

Explanation: Is that a cloud or an alien spaceship? It's an unusual and sometimes dangerous type of thunderstorm cloud called a supercell. Supercells may spawn damaging tornados, hail, downbursts of air, or drenching rain. Or they may just look impressive. A supercell harbors a mesocylone -- a rising column of air surrounded by drafts of falling air. Supercells could occur over many places on Earth but are particularly common in Tornado Alley of the USA. Pictured above are four time lapse sequences of a supercell rotating above and moving across Booker, Texas. Captured in the video are new clouds forming near the storm center, dust swirling on the ground, lightning flashing in the upper clouds, all while the impressively sculptured complex rotates ominously. Finally, after a few hours, as shown in the final sequence, dense rain falls as the storm begins to die out.

NASA Names First Astronaut Class for Deep Space Exploration
On Monday, NASA introduced eight new astronaut candidates – four women and four men – who will “help the agency push the boundaries of exploration and travel to new destinations in the solar system,” NASA said.
“This is the first class in three years, and the 21st overall in our nation’s nearly 55-year journey in space,” said NASA Associate Administrator Lori Garver in a blog post. “From a near-record number of applicants, more than 6,100, we selected an extremely qualified class that represents a high degree of achievement and dedication to our nation’s future.”
This is the highest percentage of female candidates ever selected for a class. YEAH!

Re: F.O.G.
and...in the midst of this heat wave lol

To The Horror Of Global Warming Alarmists, Global Cooling Is Here
Around 1250 A.D., historical records show, ice packs began showing up farther south in the North Atlantic. Glaciers also began expanding on Greenland, soon to threaten Norse settlements on the island. From 1275 to 1300 A.D., glaciers began expanding more broadly, according to radiocarbon dating of plants killed by the glacier growth. The period known today as the Little Ice Age was just starting to poke through.

Summers began cooling in Northern Europe after 1300 A.D., negatively impacting growing seasons, as reflected in the Great Famine of 1315 to 1317. Expanding glaciers and ice cover spreading across Greenland began driving the Norse settlers out. The last, surviving, written records of the Norse Greenland settlements, which had persisted for centuries, concern a marriage in 1408 A.D. in the church of Hvalsey, today the best preserved Norse ruin.

Colder winters began regularly freezing rivers and canals in Great Britain, the Netherlands and Northern France, with both the Thames in London and the Seine in Paris frozen solid annually. The first River Thames Frost Fair was held in 1607. In 1607-1608, early European settlers in North America reported ice persisting on Lake Superior until June. In January, 1658, a Swedish army marched across the ice to invade Copenhagen. By the end of the 17th century, famines had spread from northern France, across Norway and Sweden, to Finland and Estonia.

Re: F.O.G.
KCEN) -- It's a mystery that has people in Central Texas scratching their heads.

Hundreds of fish turning up dead in a Temple pond this weekend.

When lifelong Temple angler Eloy Machuca came to Miller Park today he saw something he didn't expect.

"I come down here to release some fish, usually little ones so kids can catch them, but I've never seen this many," Machua said.

What he saw were dead catfish hundreds of them.

"I would say 90 percent of them are dead."

The fish are floating around the edge of the pond and already starting to rot.

Just walking around the outside edge of this pond more than 300 dead fish were counted, a lot of them in a really gross muck.

But the question remains: how did they die?

According to Machua, "When you've got public access, there's just no telling what it could be."

Sue Goodwin owns a tropical fish store in Waco.

She said that most likely it's a lack of oxygen in the water suffocating the fish.

But what caused that lack of air is anyone's guess.
Temple Community Puzzled Over Dead Fish Pond
"It could have been too crowded, it could have gotten too hot, could have lost their oxygen, or somebody could have tampered with it by pouring a chemical in it."

Something as simple as maybe soap or oil.

There's also a lot of algae in the pond which robs the fish of oxygen.

It's even possible some chlorine leaked from the nearby splash pads.

And once you have a few die, it starts fouling the water and it gets the rest of them."

"I would love to see them figure out exactly what it is that's going on with these fish so that people can enjoy, can continue to enjoy the park and the water." said Temple resident Dana Everett.

But it's unclear just what it will take to do that.

Another turn in this mystery, the geese and turtles who call the pond home don't seem to have been affected.

Since it's the weekend multiple calls to Temple Parks and Leisure and the local game warden went unanswered.

We'll continue to follow this story and bring you more information as we get it.

I believe that Astral Traveler should change his headline and remove "Planet X" and insert "energy source or ball". I feel that just by putting the words Planet X makes people turn away from actually watching his vids.

No I do not believe Astral Travel is Bending Light. BL's real name is Lance and AT's name is Stephan.

TG - It would be wonderful to get Shad, Nerd and Dettro to chime in on Astral Traveler videos, as for the others I am not sure we will see that happen. Of course I never say never anymore. lol
