Nin just passed this my way. Stan is almost as good as Gabe at flow direction. He's showing a quake watch for Cali, but the last update was yesterday,so will see whats up with the new one!

Everyone is getting hit with storms on the coast on all sides. Not sure about the rest of the middle of the country but here in Colorado - zip, nothing, zero. No rain, no snow, highs in the 60's through to next week. Looks like the drought is going to return and even worse if this keeps up. There is talk about closing some of the ski runs in the mountains as there isn't any natural snow and the water table is too low to make snow.

Look what the average temps should be. And the snow later in the month of December - ignore it. They showed the same for the end of November also. Too far out to forecast.

That's ok, WhiteAngel! I bought a new almanac for next year, because last year's was right on most of the time. This one won't be. Something shut down the El Nino. My daughter, the weathertard, and I have been talking about it and we can't find a good explanation. It just disappeared! It even has the weather guru's puzzled...so they say. I'm SO sick of dust!

My brother is in Austin and DH's father and brothers are in Dallas, both groups saying it is much better than last year and tons better than the year before that BUT west Texas is much drier than usual with wells that have been in place for generations just trying up.

That's true. We're just west of Lubbock and, to quote a very wise woman I used to work with, "It's drier than a popcorn fart!". My daughter and her family lives in Mansfield and they've pretty much caught up. I think we're still just under 10" down for the year. I really don't like that forecast map. No precip. through Feb. Looks like we'll be importing hay again.

Most of our mountain water actually goes to other states, mainly Cali., which at times ticks those in Colorado off when we are on water rations and Cali is watering their lush green lawns two times a day. Not sure where are all the water rights are but remember watching a show about the coming water wars and how several years of bad drought will send states back to the old west mentality over water shortages.

On a theory note; if the earth really has tilted as much as we are thinking, Colorado would be the new west Texas area and west Texas would be the new Mexico area. Both are known dry areas - and I like the "as dry as a popcorn fart" which would be fitting.

I saw your maps. I was trying to picture where we would be. I wonder if anyone could do an overlay of the two. I've been searching ever since they put us in a different planting zone. We're still pretty warm, but it's not unheard of. Every few days, we get cold and then we warm back up again. I was typing and then I saw you said NEW Mexico! LOL You aren't the only one that should read first!! Oh crap! That REALLY isn't good! I need to get different seeds.

Oh My Gosh Harmony, just a few months ago I had a dream that woke me. As I woke I was cheering with others because we had made it and were safe again!!!

Not as the state of New Mexico, but as in the country Mexico, thus, the new Mexico. Like you said, we should be reading and then proof reading. Think what you would be like if you were in the area climate wise of Monterrey, Mexico, or maybe a little further south and of course more eastern though that would plop ya in the middle of the Gulf.

Thanks, that what I thought originally. I don't know if that's right, or maybe just not yet. Wouldn't we be warmer than we are? The dry part we've got, but our night time lows are too low, I think. We've been in the 20's and 30's mostly, then we go back to the 40's for lows. The high's are staying mostly in the 60's and 70's.

Think how cold it gets in a desert, that will point you in the right area.

Something I thought of as I went back to sleep this morning (bad night - insomnia was horrid), if the pole is where that image is (re-posting below)and like a spinning top, we SNAP back but over compensate and actually end up where HAARP currently is, what would happen? It would take a large EQ or something in space to jerk us back, maybe something magnetically? I am not a scientist so sometimes things I come up with are NOT possible

Although decaying, the Sun's active region (AR1618) erupted with an M1.6 flare on November 27th. Captured by NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory. There is no threat of geomagnetic storms on Earth.

Hey, Shad. It's got everyone shaking their heads, from what my daughter tells me. El Nino just poofed! Gone without a trace and no real signs of La Nina, either. Add to the shut off Gulf Stream, it's leaving the middle of the country high and dry. It was looking hopeful a few monthes ago, but it's been about 2 monthes since we've had ANY rain and that wasn't much. I think I'll start looking into desert gardening.
