This is the warning I got today. We had high winds and dust was blowing all over due to the lack of moisture. This is for the Denver area:
Statement as of 3:36 PM MST on December 17, 2012
... Winter Storm Watch in effect from late Tuesday night through Wednesday afternoon...
The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a Winter Storm Watch... which is in effect from late Tuesday night through Wednesday afternoon.
* Timing... snow will develop late Tuesday night and continue through Wednesday afternoon.
* Main impact... total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches possible. North to northeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph will produce extensive blowing and drifting snow.
* Other impacts... Road closures possible due to blowing and drifting snow... including interstates 70 and 76.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant snow that may impact travel. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts.
Perfectly wonderful if I didn't have to have my daughter at the hospital Thursday morning for foot surgery!!
