Outpouring of Support to Help Widow Fulfill Her Final Promise
A 91-year-old Arlington, Wash., widow who had no money to bury her husband has received an outpouring of support to help her fulfill her final promise to her lifelong love.

With just $9 to her name, Elsie Smith planned to sell every possession she had to bury her husband, Joe Smith, in the same cemetery as their family members in Snohomish, Wash.

Smith's story touched a nerve, and on Monday, she was presented with a $12,000 check by ABC News' Seattle affiliate KOMO-TV after people called the station to donate.

"I don't know what to say. I'm just dumbfounded," Smith said, after finding out her husband's burial was taken care of.

Joe Smith passed away at age 88 on Feb. 5. For the past two years, he had been suffering from Alzheimer's disease, KOMO reported.

The couple had been married for over 46 years, Smith said. The two met through her niece's husband, who was a co-worker of his at the time.

"I loved that man more than anything in this whole wide world," she said.

So dear Watson, if they are gathering off the west coast and heading south, then this is the answer to our questions. During the next week, with several things pointing to the 27th and the sun's activity picking up, I think we need to pay VERY close attention to a possible big quake along the west coast from CA northward.

I agree WA,look for japan to be involved in this energy, along with New zealand. Plates are 'rolling' I believe due to ...well too many things to count. Sorry got off easy, been on to many threads tonight and I'm theoretically physicsed out.

The Best and the Brightest


February is one of the coldest months of the year. But if you like your celestial sights to be bright and dazzling, bundle up and get yourself outside under the stars this month.

On February evenings, look south and find the constellation Orion the Hunter, the brightest constellation in the Northern Hemisphere. Two of Orion’s stars, Betelgeuse and Rigel, are among the top ten brightest stars in the sky.

Above and to the right of Orion is the planet Jupiter, the largest and brightest of the planets. On the 17th, spot Jupiter to the left of the Moon. On the 18th, Jupiter sits to the right of the Moon.

To the upper left of Orion, we find the constellation Gemini, the Twins. Castor and Pollux are twin brothers in Roman and Greek mythology, and Gemini’s two bright stars carry their names.

Below Gemini are the two dogs of Orion, Canis Minor and Canis Major, the Greater and Lesser Dogs. Each constellation contains a bright star.

In Canis Minor, it’s Procyon, which translates from the Greek as “before the dog.” Procyon gets its name because it rises each night just before Sirius, the “dog” star in Canis Major. Sirius is the brightest of all the stars and is a translation of the Greek word for “scorcher.”
