FYI Here is a comment posted by a former industry insider Re: Is fracking fluid radioactive? N.O.R.M. = Yes. Do frac companies blend radioactive materials into their fluids? = Once and a while they will pump "hot" bead down the well to track the progression of the fractures in the formation. Once the frac is complete they "flow" the well and recover these beads. Do frac companies use radioactive sources on surface to measure the density of the slurry they are pumping down hole = Yes. Will this source harm you? = if their densometer is opened up to atmosphere it could. It is a sealed source on surface however. What material is inside measuring the density of the fluid ... usually cesium 137. There is so much disinformation out there about hydraulic fracturing that its just funny. Do I have issues with shallow frac'ing that has been known to contaminate ground water ... you bet your ass I do. Former Pumping services supervisor aka: Frac Sup :hiding: Quoting: Isis One Nice info:isis onee:. This just reminded me of you.lol I've never ran across that information, very interesting.
