It is sure quiet around here. Today will be the hottest day of the year here, possibly 100 - it was already 95 at 11am!!! I don't like temps over 93, so this isn't my kind of weather at all.

The sun is only showing one sunspot and that is shrinking. Nothing new coming around the eastern limb for a bit, if nothing grows, we might actually see a spotless day which hasn't happened since 2011 when there were 2 spotless days and in 2010 there were 51 days without any spots. Now a teenager would just love spotless days!!!

Looking at the below image, it shows 8 spots around the sun, only we know that 1767 has already faded away, leaving only 7. Since I only started watching at the end of 2010, this is as quiet as I have seen our sun. I don't remember the two spotless days in 2011, maybe it was before the Japan quake for I am almost positive it wasn't after.

Quakes are mild to low moderate. In the past 7 days there has only been 80 quakes over 4.5 or more. Nothing over 6.1 and that was at the Solomon Islands on June 4th.

Can't and shouldn't complain when it is quiet yet it sure feels like things are just taking a deep breath.....

Hi WA, nice summary thanks, yes, very quiet here, funny how activity runs in cycles. True that, earth taking a much needed breather. Stay cool somehow, that heat is brutal. Lots of rain here today, maybe get us caught up annual rainfall wise. Only about 62 and damp. We must have really needed the rain, cause so far, not a drop has seeped into the basement, lol. Hope everyone is well!!!
