I've been watching [link to quakes.globalincidentmap.com] for the last 4 days or more now. Usually our Australian media will report eq's in our region, but they have been reporting none of the ones over the last few days. As reported here, there has been an unusual amount of tremors and eq's in southern america (cali, nevada, washington, mexico etc) and southern and northern alaska, and of course japan. But, what about these??

These are all over 4 and under 6 mag, and some are deep, some shallow. Is all this activity, and with the activity in usa/alaska/japan normal?

This is actually a bit below "normal" I have been watching it for many years.

This sorta-kinda reminds me of the period following Japan'z 9.0 EQ, when nearly every seismic zone on Earth was rumbling between Magnitude 4 - 6, that I posted about, nationz in African, Europe, Asia, and others:

Thread: Magnitude 4.x - 5.x on most continents in 1 Day

I would agree that those magnitudes and higher of EQz zdo happen within those areas, but I have been watching for ywars also, and never noticed this many in so many different places, and this same thing happened just a few weeks ago also, and now we've been having EQ swarms in Nevada every other day, with at least 3 or 4 being Magnitude 4+ in each swarm every other day, which is also not normal, although it is normal before a bigger EQ. Just like in Arkansas, never saw it like this in the area before.

Re: many earthquakes around the world over last 48 hours, not just usa, alaska and japan!
Went to work yesterday afternoon, so had to stop watching my earthquake and glp. 20 mins up the motorway, my best friend, who has also been watching the world with me the last few weeks, txt'd me and told me there had been a 5.4 e/quake near Rockhapton in Queensland. WHAT THE F! ?? So now there IS earthquake news on Australian tv, but not what I'd expected! 18 minutes later there was a 5.2 in Christchurch New Zeland. I know they're not on the same plate, but again.. WHAT THE F!?? Shortly after there was another 4.7 e/quake near the first location in Queensland.

Saturday April 16 2011, 05:31:19 UTC 16 hours ago Queensland, Australia 5.2 10.0
Saturday April 16 2011, 05:49:22 UTC 16 hours ago South Island of New Zealand 5.2 9.2
Saturday April 16 2011, 07:06:54 UTC 15 hours ago Queensland, Australia 4.7 16.2

"A preliminary report by Geoscience Australia registered the Queensland earthquake at 5.4 magnitude earthquake but that has since been revised to 5.2. It is the strongest earthquake in Queensland since 1965 when a 5.3 magnitude quake rattled the Toowoomba region. The quake was felt as far away as the Whitsundays off the central coast of Queensland and in the state's capital Brisbane, a Geoscience Australia spokesman told AAP." (news.com.au)

Am I supposed to think this is still "normal activity", after whatching the e/quakes around the world, and now it's happened in my own state??

Stay safe ; )
