Church leaders are mostly idiots.

Few, if any, have actually worked in hospice conditions dealing with the terminal ill who are sent home to die.

Once a person does that for a few years, their attitude toward humane euthanasia changes.

Many, perhaps most, of the terminal ill people I dealt with reached a point where they wanted it over. Cancer can be a cruel, slow torture with incredible pain and terrible loss of function, thus a loss of dignity and independence which most people take for granted, until they lose it.

After the tenth person begged me to 'help them' out of the world, my attitudes on 'no death' changed to an understanding that being humane does not mean forcing a person to live extra time over allowing that person living for as long as the quality of life is worth it.

We in the western world have focused on length of life over quality of life, which leads to cruel and unusual punishment for many.
