One would think that some bright college kid with a PhD. might have enough vision to come up with some other plant substance instead of corn to make ethanol out of. I've read that there is some promising progress with algae, and of course hemp would be the ideal plant material because of its' myriad other uses.

It seems really counter-productive, bordering on STUPID, to use our food for fuel!
