Our company had some meetings with a North American rep for a large Chinese company.

That rep told us that the big problem with doing business with Chinese companies is that up front they'll tell you they'll abide by all the quality control and good manufacturing procedures that are required by North American and European businesses, but there's no monitoring program in place so the managers of the Chinese operations tend to quickly start cutting corners in all kinds of ways, sometimes with fatal results, as we've seen.

Now I won't knowingly buy anything that comes from China.

They don't need to; we humans already do a great job at that.

One more comment -- if anyone is concerned about the pet food they're buying, keep an eye on the forums at Itchmo. They were talking about the pet deaths and illnesses before it hit the MSM and continue to do so.

China buys up big in NZ baby milk

There has been a premium in China for New Zealand-manufactured dairy products since the deaths of Chinese children who drank milk tainted with the industrial chemical melamine.

New Zealand supermarkets were forced to ration baby formula to customers to stop exporters from clearing the shelves and selling to China

Police in northwestern China announced Tuesday that milk that killed three infants and sickened 36 others was intentionally poisoned with nitrate by a competing dairy farm seeking revenge, according to the New China News Agency.

Nitrate is used for making dyes and curing meat but is not found in dairy products.

A rival diary farmer added the industrial salt to milk because of unresolved business disputes, the report said. Police have arrested two suspects and two farms have been shut down. The only food product I've bought thats Chinese produced is noodles and soya sauce, supermarkets over here took all msg soya sauce and other products containing it off our shelves.
Some Chinese entrepreneur is buying shitloads of Karicare baby milk from here and selling it online. Damn those Chingwogs poisoning those infants and adults.
