The earthquake in California today was quite strange ...

The 3.4 that hit near Pacifica this afternoon was a little stranger than usual. Like 2 seconds before I felt the rattle, I heard a pretty loud sound, like a bang or like a crack. It sounded like someone slammed the door shut pretty hard, and that was it. Then there was like 2 seconds of shaking and it was over.

I don't know if this is normal, but I've never experienced an earthquake quite like that one before. Possibly a precursor for the big one? Who knows?

This quake did come on the anniversary of the great San Francisco quake of 1906 that was a 7.8. If you remember,that 1906 earthquake was part of many earthquakes that struck the Pacific Ring of Fire between 1904 and 1907.

I feel it coming soon. Very soon. Maybe in the next couple of days. We'll see.
