Internet censored in Japan

At this point the gov't. of your country has no credibility itself.

Edano said just today that further cooling could prevent any meltdowns while other officials confirmed that meltdowns had in fact already occured in two reactors.

I can see why they want to scrub the net!

I was surprised the J gov came right out and admitted it.

In that article it is easy enough to translate it to show it is plain ol' censorship.

And another reason I'm not surprised is because I sometimes post on a board for foreigners here in Japan and I noticed two posters who were posting lots of details about the damage to the reactors and the radiation being released - got banned.

Both posters were careful and polite whilst most other posters replying to their threads were downright rude and nasty. It looked like the board had indeed been contacted and were allowing the hyenas to attack people who doubted the government or were pessimistic of the outcome.

And I myself was banned as well. I was really surprised because I knew what must be going on so I was extra careful. Though when I got to the site one day last week i was presented with a message saying I was banned.

The ban was because I was being argumentative (pure bs)and for "spreading disinformation." Initially I just thought some resident prix had got together with a sob story to admin to get rid of me because they couldn't do it. But that didn't sit right with me because it would have been so lame to do that.

Banned for spreading disinfo? W T F ? ?

* And BTW I wasn't spreading disinfo - just info they didn't want broadcasted.

Internet is censored everywhere already dumb people just do not see it.

Not so true, it´s not censored in Germany e.g., here they tried to pull off the same they did in Australia (child porn), now in Japan they use FUD (fear, uncertainity and doubt) as reason.
The most amazing thing to me is that they do this all in the open.

You won´t see this in the 8 o´clock news...

In Japan truth is not censored but buried and flooded with false by secret agents who sit in front of the computer all day long.

Remember when they were part of the Axis in WWII ?

They sneak attacked pearl harbor and were allies with Fascist Italy and Nazi Germany.

"Illegal information" is defined as........

"any information from internet sites that the authorities deem harmful to public order and morality."

That means they are fascist now?!
They are not anymore fascist than Germany and the US.
