I didn't watch the video, but before I was project manager, I was a programmer and I and any programmer worth their salt can tell you it is very easy to rig whatever you want a computer to do. Add to that the fact that there is little to no oversight (didn't Diebold even say their source code was private) and you can do exactly what you want.

To me it was obvious that electronic voting was rigged when it first came out. We had a referendum about a sports stadium. The people told the government we didn't want it. The mayor came out and called everyone stupid for not voting for it.

Then they switched the voting machines and did it again. The second time it passed. What are the odds of that? That right there showed me we were being fucked. No bond has failed here since they brought those damn machines in. Not in 20 years or so.

Then the last election showed it even plainer. No one was voting for McCain. The man was a moron and an ass and had no hope of being the candidate. So in the first few primaries they switched his votes with Ron Paul's. Momentum took over and we had a senile idiot running against the nignog.

In this county, they figured out the votes were rigged and changed machines back to where you leave a paper ballot. This county actually tries to have a fair election. Mecklenburg county on the other hand is a very corrupt place.

It has to go back to a SLOW AND METHODICAL paper....or mechanical based machine system.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too easy to manipulate computer/electronic based systems.

No programmer works at a dollar store. Unless he's not really a programmer.

As a person who has done embedded systems programming, his testimony is pretty obvious. There's nothing strange about the notion that these elections can be rigged.

The only way to make it so these electronic voting systems can't be rigged is to implement the whole thing in hardware -- no software code, just a bunch of gates (transistors, diodes, etc).

Hardware isn't programmed, it's set in stone and you can't change the processing without taking some parts out and changing them around.

That's how election machines should be built

Personally, I think all election machines should be made to print you out a slip that shows your vote and has an id number that identifies your polling station in the electronic database.

When you leave the polling station, you drop the slip in a ballot box. Then there is a paper ballot pile that should match the electronic voting results.

If there's some inconsistency, you can figure out what polling station the mismatch in voting numbers came from and toss those results or just have people repeat voting in that precinct.

I know you rightwingers essentially hate democracy and naturally gravitate towrds authoritarian dictatorship, but look up the definition of a DEMOCRATIC political system and post it.

Yes, America is a Republic. It has government with limited power and authority. It is prevented from acting against the unalienable rights of people or against the free and independent state nations.
In this Republic, the duties of representative are delivered to through a process of delegation by of authority of the people.
This Republic is also a union of 50 independent state nations and beneath them is a Federal governing power given office space in a cubicle called the District of Columbia a 10mi. by 10. mile section of Virginia. It is to have very limited power and exists only to protect these independent nation states and conduct the affairs between them.

Each of these individual state nations (countries) is comprised of self-governing people. These people are protected by defined borders which limit authority in either direction. Each of these countries has a capitol building (their own office space) located where it may best serve the people of that independent nation state. Each has a guiding Constitution which supercedes the Federal Constitution, and is also supposed to have a well-regulated militia necessary for the security of a free state.

However, the American Republic is largely unoccupied. Why?
It is because the people, have been cleverly hoodwinked into transfer of their allegiance into a corporation and made/educated to think this creature is their "country".

This "U.S. of America" is not a country but rather a corporation headquartered in D.C. It is the flagship corporation created under force and conquest after the war against the sovereign states. They call[ed] it "civil" and what followed, "reconstruction" but in any effect, the corporation is what was built.

Just like any corporation it has "officers" that "run" the business. These officers are "elected" by majority vote of corporate employees known as "U.S. Citizens". who through "application","registration" and through continuing "submission" of their vote, have chosen by action to refuse the lawful Republic and the tenants of the Constitution in exchange for "U.S. Citizenship under a "legal" Corporate power that grants certain corporate rights, benefits, and immunities.
These various corporate officers have virtually unlimited powers to act on behalf and against the "persons" that are "employed" and/or "reside" within corporate limits.
Rather than respecting your unalienable rights, they limit your rights. Should you fail to follow corporate legal policy, corporate officers are granted corporate authority apply force (enforce) in order to provide incentive for employee citizens to abide and comply with corporate policy.

It's the illusion that matters.

And people fail to admit that Obama will receive another 4 years in 2012. Hahaha. It's all rigged for the enjoyment of the spectators.
