I can't understand why people are racist against blacks

I had no idea the amount of violent crime committed by blacks in the larger cities, until I moved to San Diego, from a small town in Washington State.

Virtually EVERY SINGLE NIGHT that I came home and turned on the news, there was tape rolling of a black person robbing a store, wanted for assault, drug dealing and murder.

This was 20 yrs ago.

It's only gotten worse.

Thing is, the black friends I have, don't even come close to behaving like this, so I know that there are many blacks that are not criminals, but to watch the news and read the papers, it sure looks like it.

Never been in the states so I don't know the situation there.
My wife is black, French of Caribbean origin. All her family are perfectly decent (to say the least) people.

Thing is, the Americans have a chip on their shoulder. Plus, we all know that if they're in professional life, they've had many boosts from affirmative action all the way along, so we should not give their academic degrees the same weight we would give for a white or asian person. It's all screwed up, and all this legal meddling just breeds mistrust and resentment.
