the really best way to better hair<3
stop using shampoo and conditioner! it destroys your hair.. . not to mention our lakes and rivers. . . :( your hair is literally addicted to it. so if you take a shower n wash your hair every other day your hairs really gotta hustle to make up for all the natural oils it just got stripped of in the shower and you end up with excess oil n greasy hair. So within a day or 2 your hair already feels nasty and greasy so YOU GOTTA WASH IT! clever yes? and conditioner hit the markets when people started realizing shampoo was harmful to their hair. conditioner supposedly puts artificial oils in your hair to make up for what the shampoo took away. once youve gone a week or 2 without these products your hair will rebalance itself and be more beautiful than ever!

not to mention it pollutes all of our lakes and rivers!!!!!!

95% of shampoos are 10-20% Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) : a toxic chemical degreaser added to remover oils from your hair and your skin. results in chafing, dandruff, and peeling. .REPEATED EXPOSURE CAN CAUSE DERMATITIS. There are also many other acclaimed health risks associated with this chemical. Just google it =]

Interestingly enough your hair actually has scales! the scales lay flat in an acidic environ and make your hair look shiny and healthy but stand up in a alkali or base environ and make your hair look dull, dry, and brittle.

im sure there are lots of you who dont use it anyway but also sure tooonssss of you do and to you guys it might sound crazy and drastic but its really just one small step you can take for the better of several different causes ya!!?!?!

Yes she is right.

I still wash my hair but I use castile soap ( [link to www.drwoodsproducts.com] and rinse it with apple cider vinegar.

No, she is not right. If she were then you wouldn't be using an alkaline soap to wash your hair.

The whole point of of washing your hair is to get rid of the smell and dirt. You need an alkaline to dissolve the oil and dislodge the dirt. You need to use something acidic to make the "scales" lie flat. Not all shampoo contains SLS or other dreaded chemicals. Learn to read a label.

I just wash with ivory soap at 3 day intervals...use a homemade oil of 1 to 1 mineral to coconut with a dash of tea tree

You are what you eat....healty animal and cold processed plant fats.......never hydrogenated oils

That doesn't mean you need the traditional shampoo and conditioner. Like I said above, castile soap + vinegar does the trick.

I wash my hair using the same soap that my dermatologist recommended for my skin due to my skin allergies, Jergens.

That was 20 years ago.

I'm 62, I have nearly a full head of hair and I only have a few strands of gray.

I've done a lot of reading on the subject and found the chemicals they put in shampoos would kill a sheep. (That's an exaggeration, of course. But they are pure poison.)

I totally agree, having long straight hair shampooing just makes it fly away,I like to keep it a little a la natural and its still clean.

Brush or comb hair with something other than plastic, to distribute the oils from the roots of your scalp.
