Spartacus, on Dec.23, 2005, I was working so my workmates could be home with their children. I was waiting at the traffic light to make a left turn in very heavy traffic when I looked to the left and saw what I describe as a door of light. A rectangle on end with blinding gold light coming out. I couldn't figure out what the heck it was. I entered the parking lot, got out of the car and stood and watched the "portal" for about 15 minutes. Something went wrong(I think) because the thing tried to compress down to abou t half the size but then opened back up to it's original height. All of a sudden, roiling smoke began billowing out(only it was still inside the rectangle), then the entire thing began to move toward me. I could see tons of debris and junk flying around. It kept coming, and just when I started to run for cover, it winked out, just vanished. I looked around but there weren't many people in the parking lot, some just going into buildings, but not looking up. I felt like I was in my own little experience. It was a clear, blue sky. I have wondered many times if this was manmade. I know very little about physics.
