I've shared a few beers a joints with many bands of the world after the shows in the small clubs. Have all my vinyl signed when a band would play the small clubs. Great memories of my youth. The Best show was Metallica and Metal Church with 1000 people for the Master of Puppets tour back in the 80's. Iron Maiden always put on the best stage show for a large venue (for me anyways). I've seen so many shows my mind is blank right now lol. Can't wait until my 6 year old son is ready for a Metal Concert (this 40 year old dad is a die hard metal fan, so I would have no problem going and banging the head to a live show with him). He loves METAL (drives the wife nuts lol). |

Seamus User ID: 1341296 United States 04/21/2011 01:37 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Trying to remember is really difficult. Some of course I can't forget, others were very forgettable. And a few I don't even think I knew I was there at the time. First though, I do recall: Romantics with Howard Jones opening. Then, in no particular order: The Clash Neil Young (multiple times) Dire Straits (multiple) Lynard Skynard Yes Talking Heads Steely Dan .38 Special Grateful Dead (multiple times... Autzen, the Spectrum, Red Rocks) Bob Dylan Santana Robert Cray (multiple) Jimmy Cliff U2 (Chicago, Rosemont Horizon 1987... single worst concert I've ever witnessed) The Pogues (many multiple times.......) Psychedelic Furs The Cure Roger Waters Rush (multiple) Eric Clapton Willy Nelson Dropkick Murphys Hank Williams III (who, if you've never witnessed, you owe yourself to go see) That's all I can recall now... 'When Plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men, they create for themselves, in the course of time, a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it.' Frederic Bastiat, 'The Law' 1850 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++ "The business of the journalists is to destroy the truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to vilify, to fawn at the feet of mammon, and to sell his country and his race for his daily bread. You know it and I know it, and what folly is this toasting an independent press? We are the tools and vassals of rich men behind the scenes. We are the jumping jacks, they pull the strings and we dance. Our talents, our possibilities and our lives are all the property of other men. We are intellectual prostitutes." JohnSwinton, 1830-1901, Former chief-of-staff New York Times ++++++++++++++++++++++++++ "The bold effort the present bank has made to control the Government, the distress it has wantonly produced ... are but premonitions of the fate that awaits the American People should they be deluded into a perpetuation of this institution (The Bank of the United States), or the establishment of another like it." Andrew Jackson (December 2, 1834) |

Quoting: <<LOOK`n thru YOU>>Awesome stuff man. My son keeps asking for a drum set (so he will be getting one for his birthday from us). We were going to get him a guitar but he said he would rather bash the drums. I wish my wife would like the metal. I've been able to convert her over to some of the melodic metal (Nightwish type of stuff) but she can't get into my 80's thrash or death metal. The bay area bands blew my mind away when I was a youngster. |
