About a year ago I could get 67 US cents for my Aussie dollar I can now get $1.07 US for my dollar and this is not due to any spectacular performance in my country.

Hardly... he's a waterboy and is completely lost without the TOTUS (Teleprompter Of The United States).

But, he's been chosen to 'bring it across the goal line'... so to speak.

So was Bush, Clinton, Bush... go all the back to Woodrow Wilson & beyond if you like... waterboys carrying a load & executing orders.

Remember the FED creates electronic money out of nothing (the ether) and uses that electronic money to buy Federal Treasury Bonds and Notes. That comes in very helpful when the Chinese or Japanese are not buying. The FED is in position to buy ALL of the United States Government Debt.

The FED does not actually charge interest on the Trillions of Bonds and Notes it holds. The interest payments are made automatically by the Treasury. Do you know what the FED does with those Billions in Interest? Yep, you are right. TheFED gives the money back to the US TREASURY.

Now, did the FED use its own money to buy the bonds and notes in the first place? (The answer, Scump, is NO, of course.) Remember the FED just made electronic money out of Ether. Do you know what the FED can do with those bonds and notes? That is right, Scump, they can burn them, tear them up or dissolve them with acid. They can make the debt disappear just by snapping their fingers.

Isn't the FED wonderful? All the other countries of the world wish they had a FED. They don't, but we do. We will never go bankrupt, because we do not have any real debt.
 Quoting: JoeNeubarth

That's insane. In your scenario the cost of everything we import like oil would skyrocket making the dollar absolutely worthless. I don't know if you are a shill or just really believe this insane tripe but man you have got to get a clue.

Our money is based on debt, it has or had some kind of value since the debt was supposed to be paid off with interest by productivity through taxes. Debt only has value when it is backed by labor, your insane belief is that our labor is worthless thanks to the central bank.

You sir are a Moran.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 961432

Moran? Well, I will wear that title with gladness if it will make you happy.

The simple fact of the matter is that the American dollar is backed by the productivity of the American people. As long as we are manufacturing more than China and Japan together do. And as long as our natural resources are being mined and pumped as much as they are. And as long as our agricultural production is the greatest in the world, the United States Dollar will be a strong currency.

Consider this, if the Chinese Yuan went up to twice its present value, American products in China would be half as expensive. American products would sell and Chinese products wouldn't. All these scare mongers do not understand that simple fact. They say the dollar will be worthless. If that really happened, we would have full employment and the rest of the world would be unemployed because everybody would be buying cheap American made cars.

These scare mongers simply do not have the slightest idea what they are talking about.

Ask Scrump if he understands what happens when the dollar goes down by fifty percent against the Euro and the Yuan. See if he understands. If he does, he will retract all of the crap he posted to start this thread.
 Quoting: JoeNeubarth

the days of productivity saving the day are over, you must live in a vacuum or maybe 1958, the outsourcing of jobs overseas has been constant since the late 70's....natural resources and mining have been in decline in a similar fashion, and the only reason we still have mining going on anywhere in North America is the result of new ownership and demand of course both of those are China...a worthless dollar equals full employment...that deserves nothing in response except a midnight awakening for your next medication.....and a 50 percent drop in the dollar would equal roving bands of looters and folks desperate to survive as they hunt down those responsible for creating this mess we are all in....

I keep hearing collapse for 4 years now. I used to preach it myself. I look around me and it isnt that bad in the real world apart from the numbers. I am in a middle to working class neighborhood and all those around me are doing ok to pretty darn good. The roads are as packed as ever with people either going to work or shopping. So just how long before this economy (even though I admit it is a false economy) comes to a halt?

THE FIVE STAGES OF GRIEF

1. Denial, Denial is pretending the problem doesn't exist or cannot be seen. Many are currently doing that, ignoring how bad the financial situation really is.

2. Anger, Anger has been expressed over and over by both people who are still in stage one, as well as people in stage

3. Bargaining, People on both sides of the isle are trying to bargain their way out of the inevitable truth. There is no money to borrow to fix this. It's going to take sweat blood and tears.

4. Depression, Often this stage and the next are rolled together. It's questions like Joe's that get asked when you realize bargaining is no longer useful and the depression of the truth sinks in.

So who then is the mastermind behind this plan?

Obama?

Scrump, you see a lot of details but,

YOU MISS THE BIG PICTURE.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 942172

Obama a mastermind?

Hardly... he's a waterboy and is completely lost without the TOTUS (Teleprompter Of The United States).

But, he's been chosen to 'bring it across the goal line'... so to speak.

So was Bush, Clinton, Bush... go all the back to Woodrow Wilson & beyond if you like... waterboys carrying a load & executing orders.

So... what do you see as The Big Picture?

Just don't lump Kennedy with those clowns.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1225402

Nah...

Kennedy went against the grain & off the reservation after a while... & his Brother wouldn't play nice either.

Anyone who does (or in this case, did) that is terminated with extreme prejudice.

Um, you may reconsider that statement if you look up the history of government "Welfare" Idol1

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1079553

I live in an average American sort of town and maybe 1 person in 10 "goes to work", the rest are retired, selling dope, collecting food stamps or welfare, getting a Nut check,
on unemployment or whatever,
Of the small amount of people that are going to work, many are City, county,State or Federal employees,Cops,Lawyers,
Boutique clothing and furniture store owners, Baristas,Landscapers.
My point is that the USA used to make stuff, Aircraft,Tractors, cars, shoes, cloth, steel, not to mention agriculture, the USA was called the worlds bread basket for a reason, the USA could feed the entire world, and clothe them too.
Their is NO REAL REASON for famine, drought or need on planet Earth.
I have met 2 ladys today who were in tears because they can not pay for the gas and are behind in their bills,
Groceries and utilities, not high heals and cosmetics.
The streets are very quiet, people are staying home, not spending, learning to cook instead of ordering a Pizza.
Things are changing! look more closely.
I highly recomend a sight called Zero Hedge.com,
I do not think the mods will mind me making recomendation of that sight, I believe Trin posts their on occasion but I may be wrong about that.
It is important to educate ourselves about things financial.
Nice post Scrump.
